Congratulations to the brave and brilliant journalists who won Pulitzer Prizes today:
@mashagessen , who compared the conditions in Gaza to those in the Jewish ghettos during Nazi-occupied Europe. Further, Gessen argues that the Israeli military's actions are tantamount to the liquidation of a ghetto.
And, Palestinian photographer Saher Alghorra, whose powerful photography informs the world and memorializes Israel’s genocidial savagery. While reporting, Alghorra suffered severe hunger…and, his life is still endangered, as Israel continues to hunt down and kill 100’s of Palestinian and Libanese journalists and media workers (who are the guardians of the truth!!).

🟡🔵 University of Michigan President Domenico Grasso is “apologizing” after a commencement speech by the Faculty Senate Chair yesterday praised pro-Palestinian student activists for helping open people’s hearts to the “injustice and inhumanity” suffered by Palestinians in the U.S. -backed Israeli war on Gaza. Grasso called Professor Peterson’s remarks “hurtful,” “insensitive,” and “inappropriate,” and said they “do not represent our institutional position.” Grasso also said the comments did not belong in a “celebratory” setting, distancing the university from the message, and pledging to review future ceremonies. “We will not allow a 30-second soundbite to tear down the goodwill,” he declared.

A small petty quibble. I wish Rocky's dressing gown featured more handwork, as the Met Gala should be an opportunity for fashion houses to show off their highest level of craft. The tassels here appear to be attached by machine. Compare to the hand knotted tassels in third slide.
