Opinion markets don’t work unless you fix the underlying liquidity mechanism. Because they don’t rely on objective outcomes they are trivially manipulateable. It seems like an easy problem, “just put it on a time weighted bonding curve” — wrong. The minute a sophisticated trader gets involved you get wrecked. We tried this a year ago and went back to the drawing board because they can’t scale beyond small groups with no real liquidity. This is the entire reason we have spent a year building a new liquidity mechanism. They call it a PMM.
