Your view matter (2022/2025) by Olafur Eliasson has been extended until 13 June 2026 at Padimai Art and Tech Studio, Singapore. Step inside a VR artwork where perception, movement, and presence shape the experience—because every view matters.

Mark Rappolt Editor-in-Chief, ArtReview, reflects on Padimai as a space that speaks the language of today, moving beyond painting and sculpture to engage digital technologies, bridging digital and embodied experience, and reaching audiences beyond traditional museum models.

Your view matter, inviting each participant into an immersive personal experience, where perception is not fixed but continuously shaped by one’s movement and presence. The experience does not end with the headset—it unfolds through conversation & shared presence in the gallery.

Founder @vigsun, in conversation with Kathleen Ditzig at SAW 2026, traced Padimai’s roots in blockchain culture, cyberpunk, and early NFT. He reimagines blockchain as an archival tool, positioning Padimai as a space for “on-chain residencies” and new digital commons.

I am happy to share the opening of Padimai Art and Tech Studio, Singapore and its first exhibition, by my dear friend Olafur Eliasson. The inaugural show features Your View Matters (2022/2025), a VR artwork, the exhibition will be open to the public until 31 March 2026. The need for a physical space—one that exists in public, where art can be encountered through presence—had been a pressing need for me. While digital spaces allow for movement and access, it is the physical space that enables mediation, engagement, and shared experiences. This is where conversations unfold, where materials, bodies, and ideas meet. And therefore the founding of Padimai Art and Tech Studio. ‘Padimai’ is a Tamil word that, in a philosophical sense, speaks of becoming—of manifesting an idea. The name reflects the intention for the gallery: a space where fluid ideas become physical experiences, where art becomes tangible, visible, and open to audiences.

Robert Alice’s (@robertalice_21) ON NFTS is an effort in compiling the early evolution of digital art as NFTs, it is a comprehensive and complete document tracing and locating the significance of NFTs within the history of art. The @TASCHEN publication is a milestone in locating an index of notable NFTs that have spoken to the marking of digital art in time. Roja Muthiah Research Library (#rmrlchennai) and @onemai_fdn are inaugurating the RMRL TAMIL FONT STUDIO on 28th Feb 2024 for Tamil type design, calligraphy, and typography. Tamil Font Studio will focus on developing fonts/ typefaces scientifically and setting gold standards in Tamil font making. We will be producing a range of fonts both from the archives and freshly created ones. We are organising an International Seminar on the 29th Feb 2024. Experts in the field of typography from Malaysia, Sri Lanka and India will present their technical know-how. I am particularly excited about the possibilities working with a digitally native object like fonts offer from a blockchain perspective, including reimagining the management, documentation and archiving of the font making process and the distribution and accessibility of the fonts themselves. This international seminar will address current needs, issues in Tamil fonts faced by type designers and educators. This includes presentations by invited keynote speakers, eminent academicians, industry professionals, and research scholars.

A musical album titled Anbenum Peruveli, an exploration of Ramalinga Adigal’s (popularly known as Vallalar) poetry by Carnatic vocalist Sanjay Subrahmanyan, was launched at an event held in Asian College of Journalism (ACJ) here on Tuesday. trib.al/r7B5mlp

The continuum of public memory around Vallalar has sustained itself through his published materials, his built structures in a temporal spatial context and through his philosophical resonance. By way of archiving this website and the audio NFTs generated using @polkadot and @IPFS, we propose to further persist Vallalar’s aura by experiencing his poetry.
