Data Cloud jobs are coming in waves. But are you ready for them? You need a certain skillset if you want to capitalize on them. I broke everything down in a recent letter to Salesforce Marketers. Catch the wave while it's early. minuteadmin.com/post/data-clou…

Anything besides that is a waste of time. I'm writing these lessons to myself as the team at OpenSimSim finds product market fit. Hopefully these lessons help me and help someone else in the future.

Dear SaaS founders, CMO's GTM strategists looking for PMF To find Product Market Fit you have to prioritize conversations with your ICP The only thing that matters is talking to as many ideal customers as possible. You have to be RUTHLESS with your time in the early stages.

Incentive for large banks to bring people back into the office - (they own lots of commercial real estate and don’t want vacancies). What are the incentives to bring people back into the office? Of course working with colleagues is a reason they give. But what is the root cause?

If you want a job and can pass certs but don't have a step-by-step job hunt system, you're just collecting certs with no results to show for it. Certs can get you in the door, but if you can't find the door, it doesn't matter.

Keep going to the gym (even if it hurts (in a good way)) There's no shortcut. You have to keep showing up everyday. In a microwave instant gratification culture, its easy to want the fast result. But nothing sustainable comes fast and easy.

Keep building the product (even if its going to take a long time) Keep learning the skill (even if it sucks not knowing anything) Keep reaching out to leads (even if they aren't answering) Keep saying yes to friend events (even if its inconvenient)

How do you say what you do (when you do a lot of things?) As a marketer you do: - Data Analytics - SQL, AMPscript, SSJS to personalize content - Market research - Training people how to use software - Sales calls - Content creation - Talk with clients & get requirements

- Document everything you do (writing solidifies what you know & clarifies your thinking). - Learn how to code (this will teach you “first principles” of the software)

How to get better at Marketing Cloud: - Use the system daily (this is a no brainer and yet most people who want to get better don’t do this). - Teach it to someone else (when people ask questions, it forces you to dig deeper into the storehouse of your mind).

Its not about what you do for work. It's about how you take ownership of your work (and the work of other people around you), so your team gets the job done and wins.

Make sure you're always checking reports. So you can see if any strange things happened with your finances, business, health, etc...

@Mathes_MK yep - the numbers don't lie. If you can prove ROI, there's nothing anyone can say against that.

If you want to make more money in Marketing Cloud... Track metrics for every project you do in Marketing Cloud. Understand the value you bring to a company. If you delete un-used contacts from SFMC, see how much money you saved that client.

It's simple in theory, but requires fast thinking in a meeting where it may be scary to speak, or you just might forget about it because you have other things going on. But that's some free game for ya. Start asking questions that make people think about the marketing strategy.

You can add value to this situation by asking: - "What is the opposite/adjacent metric for this request?" Then think about the opposite metric... If the executive wants to see users who uploaded a resume, then an opposite number could be "users who didn't upload a resume".

Marketers: How to add value & get paid more... A simple tactic. Ask for the opposite/adjacent metric to the metric that teams want. For example: - An executive wants to see all users who uploaded a resume. The logical thing to say "yes, I'll get that for you" and do the task.
