A 7-year-old girl was allegedly raped by an 11-year-old boy in Himachal Pradesh's Mandi district. The police have registered a case against the juvenile accused under sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC) on the basis of a complaint lodged by the survivor's mother. No, it was not the women’s reservation bill which failed in Lok Sabha today. Women’s reservation was passed unanimously in 2023. Govt itself which made it contingent on post-2026 Census delimitation. The present Bill was a move to increase LS seats based on 2011 census.
