Gen,I think before concluding that Hon.Kabanda is being fought,it's prudent and important to first give those with greviances attention and you listen to them so that you get both sides of the story. You appointing him doesn't necessarily mean that he can't make mistakes while running the office of the Secretary General. Thank you.

One of our serious members recently told me that from his research PLU currently has at least 4,000,000 members. I believe him.

PLU is more united now than ever before. If they are any spoilers amongst us we shall not hesitate to discipline them. We are an extremely disciplined movement.

Kabobi, should stop telling the world lies. He fled the country on the 26th of January this year. 11 days after the elections. He has spent 2 months in the United States eating Big Macs while his followers are in jail. Some leader.

Africa’s growth will be unlocked by infrastructure and a rail link from 🇰🇪Malaba to Kampala 🇺🇬is a step in the right direction. A connected continental rail network linking African cities isn’t just transport. It will be an economic engine. It would lower the cost of trade, open up landlocked regions, accelerate mineral exports, and create millions of jobs across the value chain. From Mombasa to Kampala, Lagos to Abidjan, Cairo to Nairobi—rail is how we move Africa from fragmented markets to one integrated economy. The vision is clear what remains is project execution.

Museveni: “We’re going to push our section from Malaba to Kampala, then to Kasese and Mpondwe linking to the DRC. We are also working on the railway from Tororo to Gulu, then Nimule to Juba, as well as the line from Bihanga to Kigali.”

𝐒𝐆𝐑 𝐄𝐱𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐋𝐚𝐮𝐧𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐁𝐨𝐨𝐬𝐭 𝐑𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐝𝐞 President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni and H.E. William Ruto today jointly launched the Kisumu–Malaba Standard Gauge Railway (SGR) Extension (Phase II) in Kisumu, marking a significant milestone in advancing regional infrastructure and economic integration. The project underscores a shared commitment to strengthening connectivity across East Africa through efficient, modern transport systems. By enhancing linkage to the Port of Mombasa, the region’s principal trade gateway, the SGR extension is expected to significantly reduce cargo transit time along the Northern Corridor and improve trade efficiency. The initiative also reflects a strategic approach to optimizing transport—prioritizing rail for heavy cargo, pipelines for petroleum, and roads for passengers and light goods—while addressing key cost drivers including transport, electricity, and financing. With a substantial share of cargo from Mombasa destined for Uganda and neighboring countries such as Rwanda, Burundi, South Sudan, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo, the project is poised to enhance competitiveness, facilitate cross-border trade, and support key sectors including agriculture and fisheries. This development represents a critical step towards lowering the cost of doing business, accelerating industrialisation, and unlocking the full economic potential of the Great Lakes region. #OpenGovUg
