The Minister of Justice and Constitutional Affairs of the FGS , H.E. @HassansheikhAli , today attended the graduation ceremony of 150 students from Haile Barise Technical Development Center in Mogadishu, who successfully completed two years of TVET training in solar PV, construction and mechanical trades. The Minister encouraged the youth to pursue technical and vocational skills as a pathway to employment, self-reliance, and national development.

H.E @HassansheikhAli , Minister of Justice & Constitutional Affairs chaired the Ministry’s weekly leadership meeting, reviewing progress on key reforms, including justice sector programs, child justice initiatives, and upcoming legislation. A new Justice Sector Coordination Forum was also presented to strengthen collaboration across institutions. This milestone marks a new chapter in Somalia’s state-building, strengthening constitutional governance, unity, and democratic progress.

The Director General of Justice Affairs at the Ministry of Justice & Constitutional Affairs, Abdinor Hassan Mohamed, today attended the conclusion of a six-day capacity development workshop for FMS Coordinators and Community Liaison Officers from Galmudug, Hirshabelle, Southwest, and Jubaland, covering 11 programme districts. The DG underscored the importance of direct engagement, commended the strong teamwork and comprehensive six-day review, and urged participants to institutionalize and disseminate the knowledge gained—applying Generative Dialogue to local contexts and placing people at the center of Justice Service Delivery and not merely counting cases.

H.E. Hassan Moallim Mahmoud, Minister of Justice and Constitutional Affairs of the Federal Government of Somalia, met with H.E. Jamaal Mohamed Hassan, Minister of Commerce and Industry, to advance reforms aimed at strengthening Somalia’s commercial legal framework. The Ministers agreed to establish  commercial courts and formal dispute resolution mechanisms, and to form a joint technical committee to support coordinated implementation in the public interest.

H.E. @HassansheikhAli , Minister of Justice and Constitutional Affairs of the FGS and H.E. Lotfi Boudjemaa, Minister of Justice of the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria, today signed a Memorandum of Understanding in Algiers to strengthen bilateral cooperation in the fields of justice and the judiciary. The agreement reflects the longstanding fraternal ties between Somalia and Algeria and provides a framework for exchanging expertise and best practices in judicial reform, institutional development, and capacity building. The MOU emphasizes key areas of cooperation, including the enhancement of court procedures, promotion of judicial independence, reinforcement of the rule of law, protection of human rights, advancement of legal education and research, reform of correctional facilities, and integration of modern technology to address contemporary criminal challenges. This landmark agreement marks a significant step in deepening the strategic partnership between the two countries and advancing justice sector development.

The Minister of Justice and Constitutional Affairs of the Federal Government of Somalia, H.E. @HassansheikhAli , delivered a keynote address at the Türkiye–Africa Strategic Dialogue held in Ankara, bringing together high-level participants from Türkiye and African countries. The Minister highlighted that Africa–Türkiye relations have reached a stage of strategic maturity, built on mutual respect, partnership, and shared benefits. The Minister noted Türkiye’s support to Somalia in combating terrorism, strengthening maritime security, and addressing transnational crime, underscoring the importance of genuine partnerships for peace and stability across Africa.
