I will never trust anyone on social media ever again. Women are not the problem. My ex writes virtuous and discipline posts daily while he lies and uses a fake name to hide that he is a violent ex felon, who doesn't take care of his kids. He's been unemployed for years on welfare, lying about everything so that he can social climb. 40+ year old man who targeted and abused me as a cancer patient. He lied about his entire life because he was long distance he got away with it and stole 1 year of my life from me. He then had the nerve to play victim and say "why is everything on me, you're too sick to travel and can't come here either". I did not pursue this man or even want a relationship with him, he BEGGED for a relationship and insisted he would be here for my cancer treatment and wanted to help me. The one time I did visit him, he got violent randomly and choked me, 3 months posts my level 7 neck dissection. I specifically asked him to please never touch my neck because it's numb from the surgery. To this day he still denies it and cries that I'm a liar trying to make him look bad when I thought he was going to murder me randomly for no reason. We had no argument, nothing, he just walked up behind me and choked me. He never showed up for a single doctor appointment, never helped me or sent me a dollar. In fact he took thousands of dollars in support from me and hundreds of hours of emotional support that I gave him because of his lies and manipulation. This man plays the victim online every single day and has multiple other abusive men in high level positions of power who support him. Protect yourself at all costs.

i have no bf, no children, little to no family support and havent worked in 3 years because once i got cancer, i just started collecting more chronic illness and symptoms comorbid with audhd. Listening to people say it's not a disability is infuriating. I worked my life away bc thats all i could do, i still have nothing and it cost me my health and sanity.

things that can kickstart someone’s autism symptoms becoming more prevalent: - trauma - traumatic brain injuries (even mild concussions) - viral infections like rubella, influenza, herpes simplex, zika, varicella, cytomegalovirus - SARS-CoV-2 (covid) specifically - severe stress
Amanda@cavesofsteel

Yeah but it’s really annoying seeing late-diagnosed level 1 autism adults with relationships, kids, college degrees be like “oh my gosh I’m so autistic I can’t even go to the gym or x or y” like dude. You’re not that disabled if you’ve achieved all that without even a diagnosis.

@freesectionsf @daisy_bey this fake shit that is not a disability is beyond ridiculous and causes more harm. there are so many serious health conditions comorbid with autism. I'm starting to be convinced that there is a ton of NPD people pretending to have autism and they say insane shit like this

you shouldn't, there is medication available and supplements that can help improve things. If the individual is an adult and has health insurance or a job and doesn't use that to get medicated or get help then they are the problem. I have been medically traumatized so many times, I have broken liver enzymes and so many issues and I still seek out medication so that I dont end up with 4 weeks of dishes in my sink. I will even sacrifice not eating for a day or 2 and pay someone to avoid the buildup. There are a lot of people who lean into their dysfunction and have other mental illness going on besides adhd, these people should not be getting sympathy or resources since they have no interest in making their life better or being less of a burden to those around them.

@shrili_ I've had an adult ADHD roommate and maybe I'm a dick but I just don't buy that leaving giant piles of dishes in the sink for a week straight is bc of ADHD-related forgetfulness. You see your pile of dishes and decide not to do them every time you walk through the kitchen

I feel like a large percentage of people haven't really seen what actual ADHD or autism looks like in adults, and actively underestimate it's effects on people. Doesn't help that it's very literally invisible, unless you are experiencing it

@Heavenly_Race_ Absolute bullshit. I have an IQ well north of 140 and regularly work with and manage lots of people who didn't graduate high school, some from prison (attempted murder, etc)... no problems communicating, I mean this was 90% of my high school class.

Once you hit about a 20-point IQ gap, communication starts to completely break down. It's not that the lower IQ person is "stupid" (although that can often be the case) or the higher one is arrogant, it's that you're literally operating on different systems. A 20 point difference (roughly 1.3 standard deviations) means: Vocabulary and abstraction levels diverge sharply. What feels like crystal clear logic to one side sounds like vague, pretentious word salad to the other. Jokes land flat. Metaphors get taken literally. Complex cause and effect chains get simplified into "this good, that bad." Different time horizons and pattern recognition. One person thinks in months or years and sees systems, the other is locked into days or immediate rewards. Trying to explain second order effects feels like speaking another language. Also, processing speed and working memory gaps. The higher IQ person is already three steps ahead, getting impatient. The lower IQ person feels talked down to or overwhelmed. Both walk away frustrated. Both have wasted each others time.

That's what bothers me the most on twitter, every single person who is a true genius effortlessly speaks to the level of their audience. Systems thinking allows connection to be formed at any level. The only argument I accept is that once you develop any sort of illness your energy levels deplete, and explanations start to cost energy you may no have anymore.

I took care of an extremely volatile mother with an iq of like 75 most of my life. It has never been difficult for me to explain things or figure out ways to communicate in simplistic terms despite the > 20 IQ difference. What has been difficult is the energy requirements to do this increase as I age and have chronic illness to deal with.

@DrCamRx the biggest problem with everything he does is that he looks sickly, he doesn't look healthy. there is some respect owed to him for atleast trying and testing things, it's too much exhibitionism for me personally but there is some validity to his research methods.

Whoever is giving you advice and history lessons is doing you a serious disservice. I suggest you educate yourself and read some actual history books. Women did not force their way into the workplace. World War I and II forced women into the workplace and then the rapid inflation requiring a 2 income household in the 90's further solidified it. Get off the red pill bs and actually learn something.

I never had issues avoiding bad men until I got cancer and was vulnerable. Wanting to be heard for being betrayed or lied to doesn't make you a miserable person. However if you find these people miserable because you think you are superior well, that says plenty about yourself.

This post is for fellow autistic people, and not at all a cry for help. I matched the stats for autistic people being more suicidal until age 34: my 3rd & last suicide attempt. I was honestly PISSED when I woke up alive 😅 But here's the thing: autistic people see some things more clearly than our NT peers. We see systemic-level issues that are beyond our peers, plus we're socially shunned for seeing them, so duh, suicide attempts 🤷🏻‍♀️ I am incapable of giving a fuck what NTs think of me these days. That already lowers my suicide risk. Add in my ability to see the big picture & it's like why would I kill myself over seeing it more clearly? Autistic people cannot achieve happiness in conventional ways. We are designed to be unconventional 🤷🏻‍♀️ You can carve your own path in life, or you can drown in NT expectations. But I promise if you do things conventionally as an autistic person, you will "fail." You're different. You're "special." Act like it or kill yourself, the choice really is that dire 🤷🏻‍♀️
