Jim spent decades behind the wheel, leaving his mark on the sport and creating memories that will never be forgotten. A true character of the racing community, he was well known for yodeling in victory lane after a win—bringing smiles to fans and fellow competitors alike. His passion for racing was evident every time he took to the track, and that love for the sport will forever be part of his legacy. “Cowboy” Jim Kennedy will always be remembered and deeply missed.

It’s the best I ever felt at Syracuse & absolutely no aerodynamic changes to what we ran on a short track. We even had a thick belly wing. We were running 3rd & closing in on Jeff Swindell for 2nd, clipped a lapped car, spun out, came from the back & still finished 3rd.
