Montgomery College student Lirio Reyes Castro has been named a 2026 Coca-Cola Academic Team Scholar through the @PHITHETAKAPPA, sponsored by the @cokescholars Foundation. A sophomore and first-generation Latina college student, Lirio earned the full $1,300 scholarship and will be recognized at the Parade of Scholars during the PTK Catalyst Convention in Baltimore. Her achievement reflects the power of leadership, service, and academic excellence at Montgomery College, especially during Women's History Month. Congratulations, Lirio! At Junior Achievement (JA) Finance Park inside Thomas Edison High School, middle school students aren't just learning about money—they're living it. This innovative program through Junior Achievement of Greater Washington brings financial literacy to life through a hands-on experience that teaches kids life skills they’ll actually use. One of those life skills is the importance of education, courtesy of the #MontgomeryCollege to @UatShadyGrove pathway.

Montgomery College alumnus and professional actor Alie Karambash spoke passionately and eloquently at yesterday’s @MoCoCouncilMD meeting in support of MC’s theatre arts program. “A renovated Theatre Arts Building would be a promising investment for the students at Montgomery College who will become our region’s next actors, producers, set designers, and sound technicians.” We also thank our current theatre arts students: Juliana Quirino Norman advocated, “By supporting Montgomery College’s theatre arts, you are supporting access, equity, and opportunity for students to find their voice and career in the arts.” Eli Schreiber said, “MC’s performing arts department is brimming with life.
