Not taking yourself seriously is a fantastic quality it makes you immune to ridicule. If you can mock yourself, how can anyone else affect you? We should teach our children this kind of mindset. Verbal bullying would have no impact, and since bullies crave a reaction, it might even stop them.
Also, if you can call yourself a retard, how can you possibly get offended when your favourite celebrity or politician is called one? The world would be a better place if everyone called themselves retarded.
