Jackie Turner (NASWA), Stephan Demeritte (North Carolina), Thomas Kodiak (USDOL), Chris Nelson (Texas) Sally Pezzino (New Jersey), Mike Smith (Indiana) and Emily Ward (South Dakota) provided closing remarks for the Administration and Finance attendees. #NASWAAFT2

Participants addressed grant closeout procedures with guidance to ensure a smooth & compliant process in Financial Reporting & Closeout. In Cost Allocations, attendees learned how costs can be attributed to one or multiple grants based on program benefits. #NASWAAFT26

In the UI Funding session, participants gained an understanding of UI funding, covering UI Trust Fund benefits, Extended Benefits (EB), & Disaster Unemployment Assistance (DUA). Attendees also learned about the numerous other grants and services provided by USDOL. #NASWAAFT26

Attendees heard a discussion highlighting key steps in the USDOL federal grant application process for both formula and competitive grants. In the Internal Controls session, participants reviewed its importance & key components needed to implement them successfully. #NASWAAFT26

In the UI Financial Administration session, participants received an overview of the key aspects & complexities of the UI administrative grant. Additionally, in the Title I WIOA Grant session, attendees learned key information needed to better understand the grant. #NASWAAFT26

Participants learn how to manage & fulfill the reporting obligations for UI funding in Navigating UI Financial Reporting Requirements. In the Managing Local Area Allocations & Fostering Partnerships session, the focus was on fostering partnerships with local boards and agencies.

With grants now awarded, participants focused on effective grant management and analyzing the financial data generated in Grant Operations & Financial Analysis. The Audits session covered monitoring, checklists, and preparation strategies to ensure a smooth process. #NASWAAFT26

This morning participants explored the USDOL Resource Justification Model. Meanwhile, the focus was on all aspects of the ETA Financial Reports in the Title I WIOA - Financial Reporting & Unique Cost Issues session. #NASWAAFT26 @PALaborIndustry
