📝Strengthening collaboration for better health security. The National One Health Coordinating Unit (NOHCU), in collaboration with key One Health stakeholders, convened a 3-day consultative workshop to revitalize the National One Health Risk Assessment and Information Sharing (NOHRSIS) platform in Abuja. ✅The workshop focused on strengthening intersectoral collaboration, improving early warning systems, enhancing information sharing, and promoting coordinated responses to zoonotic diseases, Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR), and other shared public health threats. ✅Participants reviewed operational challenges, updated governance documents, validated Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and developed strategies to improve coordination and sustainability across the human, animal, and environmental health sectors. This initiative marks another important step towards strengthening Nigeria’s One Health architecture and building a more resilient public health system. #HealthSecurity #NOHRSIS #AMR #PublicHealth #NCDCNigeria

Following the successful training of all study staff, we are pleased to announce the commencement of participant enrollment for the ENABLE 1.5 Project, Bauchi (Bauchi ENABLE) in partnership with @CEPIvaccines. This study will deepen our understanding of #LassaFever by assessing disease incidence, clinical presentation, and malaria co-infections across affected communities in the Northern region of the country where there have been increase cases of Lassa disease. Bauchi ENABLE also marks a key step in strengthening Nigeria’s capacity for high-quality research and future vaccine trials. Through collaboration, scientific excellence, and community engagement, the project is generating critical data to support Lassa fever vaccine development and improve response strategies across Nigeria and West Africa. #ENABLE1.5 #LassaFeverResearch #GlobalHealth #VaccineResearch

A safe workplace isn’t just injury free it’s also stress-aware, supportive, and mentally healthy. This April 28, on World Day for Safety and Health at Work, we’re highlighting the importance of psychosocial safety because mental well-being matters as much as physical protection. What does a healthy psychosocial work environment look like? ✅Manageable workloads and clear roles ✅Support from leadership and colleagues ✅Respect, fairness, and open communication ✅The ability to speak up without fear When these are missing, stress, fatigue, and poor communication can lead to errors, lower productivity, and lasting harm to our health. Let’s look out for one another, raise concerns openly, and build a safer, healthier, more resilient workplace together. #WorldDayForSafetyAndHealthAtWork #HealthyWorkplace #NCDCNigeria
