Instead of asking whether AI should be open or closed, some say we're asking the wrong question. In my latest Ground Level AI podcast, Transformer co-author Illia Polosukhin @ilblackdragon argues the real issue is whether AI systems are verifiable—and ultimately accountable to users. A fascinating discussion on AI sovereignty, privacy, and who should control AI. groundlevel-ai.com/p/ground-level…

For my first post, I’m sharing a letter @NVIDIA signed on why open models matter. AI will transform every industry, power every company, and be built by every country. Open models strengthen safety and cybersecurity, accelerate innovation and diffusion, and enable sovereignty. The world needs both frontier closed models and frontier open models. images.nvidia.com/pdf/Open-Weigh…

We spent the past few months working with @Oracle and @NEARProtocol on a proof of concept that puts stablecoin payments inside Simphony, the Oracle point-of-sale system running checkout at food and beverage venues worldwide. Oracle brought in SVRN as a commercialization partner of NEAR, to design a solution for integrating @near_intents' coordination infrastructure with Simphony. Payment settlement is moving onchain for practical reasons that Oracle and other large payment infrastructure providers can no longer ignore. Cards authorize in seconds, then the merchant often waits days for the money. Onchain settlement finishes in seconds, costs less, and the funds are ready to use nearly instantly. The larger opportunity will arrive when agents start doing the buying. NEAR Intents is well positioned to serve that future, and Oracle's writeup on our collaboration points right towards it.

NEW LAUNCH Confidential Intents is now generally available, bringing NEAR's confidential execution infrastructure to all builders. Devs and dApps can bring confidential execution to their users through the NEAR Intents 1Click Swap API. The privacy renaissance runs on NEAR 🧵
