When pressed on President Trump’s conflicting comments about the reasoning and the timing for attacking Iran, and whether he’s “making this up,” White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt told CBS News’ @nancycordes, “The president is not making anything up.” “This was a feeling the president had based on facts, facts provided to him by his top negotiators who had been engaged with the Iranian regime in a good faith effort,” Leavitt said.

NEW—In a phone interview, President Trump told me the war could be over soon: “I think the war is very complete, pretty much. They have no navy, no communications, they’ve got no Air Force.” He added that the U.S. is “very far” ahead of his initial 4-5 week estimated time frame.

The Obama plaque on Trump’s Walk of Fame describes the 44th president as “one of the most divisive political figures in American History” who “crippled small businesses with crushing regulation” and “spied on the 206 Presidential Campaign of Donald J. Trump”.

The new Trump plaque on the White House “Presidential Walk of Fame” reads as if it were written from the future, saying Trump “has built, right here at the White House, the magnificent Trump Presidential Ballroom after a 225 year wait,” adding, “THE BEST IS YET TO COME!”

The Trump White House has placed new plaques under the presidential portraits on the “Walk of Fame” facing the Rose Garden. The Biden plaque describes him as the “worst President in American History” who “oversaw a series of unprecedented disasters”.

Food insecurity rates before the recent government shutdown were “higher than at any point, during the pandemic,” Feeding America CEO Claire Babineaux-Fontenot says, adding that going into the holidays, the organization is “continuing to see very high demand.”

Sen. Tim Kaine (D-VA) says he will move “immediately” to try and pass a War Powers Act resolution again if the U.S. carries out military action in Venezuela. Kaine says it failed to pass the first time, but he believes “the numbers will change” if the Trump administration takes further action.

“This is classic terrorism,” Rep. Mike Turner (R-OH) says of the shooting of two National Guard members in Washington, D.C. “This is where an individual who tries to break the heart of a nation, who does a murderous act right before Thanksgiving,” Turner adds, arguing the vetting process for Afghan nationals “was flawed.”
