Today, National Forum Director of Programs Jen Childress addressed the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services during a Medicare Drug Price Negotiation Program town hall on Trulicity (dulaglutide). She urged CMS to weigh real-world consequences, not just cost, when making coverage decisions. 💊 Dulaglutide's once-weekly dosing supports stronger adherence and persistence, which is especially meaningful for older adults managing multiple medications. 🫀 For Medicare beneficiaries with cardiovascular risk and chronic kidney disease, access to a therapy that patients can reliably stay on is not a nice-to-have. It's part of the care equation. ⚠️ The National Forum is calling on CMS to protect against non-medical switching that disrupts adherence and continuity of care, with disproportionate harm to underserved populations. 📋 Read our full comments: natforum.org/trulicity-town… #Medicare #DiabetesCare #CardiovascularHealth #CMS #DrugPricing #MedicationAdherence #ChronicDiseasePrevention

Heart health is shaped long before the first symptom appears — by daily habits, access to clear information, and whether prevention is part of the conversation in the places where people live and work. Move with the Mayor® helps local leaders and public health partners bring heart health into civic spaces. It connects movement, mental well-being, chronic disease awareness, and seasonal protection under one shared effort. The result is a more consistent approach to heart health at the local level. What does it look like when mayors make physical activity and mental health a civic priority? On Tuesday, April 7, the National Forum joined the American Public Health Association for a National Public Health Week briefing — "Ready. Set. Action! Mayors Advancing Physical Activity, Mental Well-Being, and Social Connection." Move with the Mayor® participants Mayor Crystal Ruiz (San Jacinto, California) and Mayor Ed Brown (Upper Darby, Pennsylvania) shared how they've built community health programming rooted in creativity, consistency, and meeting residents where they are. We also featured Mayor Denise D. Grant (Lauderhill, Florida) and her work to make Lauderhill one of the healthiest cities in the country. Thank you to APHA for the partnership and to our three mayors for leading by example in every sense of the word. #MoveWithTheMayor #NationalPublicHealthWeek #NPHW2026

Public health challenges don’t exist in silos, and neither should solutions. Heart disease is still the leading cause of death in the United States, and the factors that shape heart health don’t happen one at a time. Four connected areas of focus reflect a more complete approach to prevention at the community level: ❤️ Physical activity 💚 Mental health 🧡 Cholesterol awareness 💛 Flu immunization Learn more: natforum.org/mwtm #NationalPublicHealthWeek #NPHW2026 #MoveWithTheMayor

Happy National Walking Day! 🚶‍♀️🚶 At the National Forum, we don't just talk about the benefits of physical activity. We walk the walk. Here's proof: Executive Director @JohnClymer and Director of Programs Jen Childress take their meeting outside, because some of the best ideas happen when you're moving. Whether it's a stroll around the block, a walk between meetings, or steps with a neighbor — every bit counts. Today's a great reminder to lace up and get moving. 👟 #NationalWalkingDay #MoveWithTheMayor

High LDL cholesterol often has no symptoms, but it significantly increases your risk for a heart attack and stroke. Louisville, Mississippi, Mayor Will Hill, Noxapater, Mississippi, Mayor Sammy Carter, and Nurse Practitioner Eric Yarbrough share why knowing your numbers could save your life. When mayors move, communities move toward healthier hearts. Take action: Talk to your doctor, attend a screening event, or order a free at-home test at familyheart.org/CCkit. #MoveWithTheMayor #LDLCCantWait #KnowYourNumbers
