Neighborhood segregation is a reality even in India. In India, I have seen segregated areas like Harijan colonies, Ambedkarnagar, Jagjivanram nagar etc where bulk of the population are Dalits. As usual these community spaces lack any public amentities including quality English Education and quality hospitals. No banks will give you loans. Nobody will come... But they become very very active during elections. Elections are gala time for these areas...

India's Muslim and Scheduled Caste neighborhoods face systematically worse access to schools, clinics, and basic infrastructure. New research documents the extent of neighborhood segregation, currently invisible in the aggregate data used by policymakers. bit.ly/4saLvJH

Honble Home Minister words that subcategorisation will divide the dalits is without basis. This is like saying reservations will divide the Hindus. Why can’t we give education to all, equality will be achieved automatically? This was the same argument Dr Ambedkar faced when he fought for reservations. Subcategorisation has been implemented among the OBCs, did it divide them. No it only helped allocate better resources. Will all OBC relate to a OBC PM? Yes they relate. So all castes among SC ST also can relate to a leader if they work for them. But if you don’t work and again again create hurdles creating more complications, no groups will trust. There is no subcategorisation in political reservations. How will it affect the voting patterns ? Supreme court has dealt this matter and interpreted that subcategorisation should be carried out. It’s fine Karnataka government does not implement subcategorisation. But to pretend that they are unifiers of all dalits is a complete myth. youtu.be/ObsdBsqrh7M?si…

Karnataka proposes increasing creamy layer limit for OBCs to Rs 12.75 lakh. This is a welcome move. Apart from this EBCs or MBCs in Karnataka should not have any creamy layer criteria defined at all
