ya, i feel like it’s time for us to get really honest. most students using AI to do all their work do it b/c they’re lazy. they’re not secret scholars just juggling a lot of responsibilities or disillusioned by an emphasis on getting a job rather than learning. they don’t care🤷🏾‍♀️
Eugene B. Lee-Johnson, PhD@eugenejohnson_

I had four students take pics of my exam and upload them to ChatGPT while I was in the room. Lol. I gave the students a study guide for the final on the first day of class. Many students are lazy and don’t care. Cheating is rampant. AI only emboldens them.

No. But that’s also not what we’re discussing. A hospital refusing to hire qualified physicians based on race and a directory helping patients locate Black physicians are not the same thing. One is employment discrimination. The other is patients seeking providers they believe will better understand their experiences. The fact that you’re conflating those two things is exactly why we will never see eye to eye.
Brent A. Williams, MD@BrentAWilliams2

@DrBrittaniJ Do you think that a hospital should be built that only hires Black medical providers, in 2026? Yes or No?

My little cousin has Sickle Cell. Her white doctors thought she was faking her pain and drug seeking. It wasn't until she got a Black female MD that she got a new team; a treatment regimen that included pain management; a therapist; and specialized p.t. Etc. - A white doctor suing because of a Black directory tells a lot about that doctor. He's about to lose even more patients. #DemsUnited

Examining Kate’s 1% She has suspected endometriosis. This affects at least 1 in 10 women, likely more. Here she’s getting an ultrasound. Historically you needed surgery just to diagnose it (incisions are made in the abdomen). We're doing a non-invasive route. Typically women live with endometriosis for 7-10 years before being diagnosed. It’s the leading reason women aged 30 to 34 get hysterectomies (permanent surgery to entirely remove the uterus). This condition is where endometrial-like tissue starts growing outside the uterus, in ovaries, bowel, bladder, even the diaphragm. This tissue inflames, scars, and glues organs together. Our first step is to find out if @_katetolo has it. Initial measurements we’re doing: + trans vaginal ultrasound + pelvic MRI w and w/o contrast + hormonal labs All during the early part of her cycle to get the clearest picture. During her ultrasound, a slim probe, about the width of two fingers, 10-12 inches long (although only a small portion is inserted) is covered with a protective sheath and lubricant and gently inserted into the vagina (patient has to empty their bladder first). This creates real-time images of the uterus, ovaries, and surrounding pelvic structures. While inserted, the probe is turned 90 degrees to evaluate all the various structures, angles and views. There is no radiation exposure. The technician is looking for scarring, ovarian cysts, adhesions, and for organs that are fused together with tissue. This ultrasound can confirm endometriosis but it cannot rule it out. What endo does to the body: + 90% report pelvic pain + 50% report severe fatigue + 26% report infertility. However many sources cite 30 to 50 percent. + 50% experience pain during sex. + Many have pain with ovulation, bowel movements, and urination + Severe bloating called “endo belly” where the abdomen visibly distends There are a handful of theories about why endometriosis develops but the honest answer is no one is quite sure. We’ll keep you posted on her results.

There’s something with naija babies and their love for swallow and soup. My sis in the Netherlands had her son there and this boy didn’t come to naija till he was 8months old. According to her he was such a picky eater with all the foods she’d tried to give him. Only for his grandma to carry him and feed him garri with okro and the boy was eating like no man’s business. My sis was so shocked, she almost cried because she had been feeling bad for him, he’s been living on milk and avocado puree for so long. We were all laughing because the aggression he was using to eat the garri was obvious he hadn’t enjoyed food in a while.

I woke up and found my mum feeding my 5 month old eba and egusi soup, and the nigha himself was eating with all zealousness. I got angry and carried my baby but this boy started screaming and wailing, and didn’t stop until I gave him back to my mum and she put egusi soup in his mouth. 🤦🏾‍♀️

If white doctors took the complaints of black people, especially black women more serious they wouldn’t have to worry about people finding doctors that look like them and who they’re more comfortable with
