Acredito que as obras coreanas (especialmente das décadas de 1950 a 1980) têm muito a nos oferecer hoje. Sua atitude em relação à vida e ao trabalho, em particular, é significativa. Eles pintavam com o espírito de transcender seu status como artistas de um país colonial e empobrecido. Quantos artistas, como Van Gogh, só foram reconhecidos após a morte, ou ainda não foram descobertos e caíram no esquecimento? Quis dar destaque a eles e restaurar sua dignidade no santuário que criei. E acredito que devemos viver nossas vidas com essa mesma atitude. RM.”
