My thumbs hurt while trying to obsessively set up a Picoclaw AI agent on my phone, guided by ChatGPT's "lets make this even better" promise. The agent kept failing, to the point that I discarded the autonomous operating system with memory and self learning, and just ran the damn thing. It still fails so much that I barely use it, but I learned a lot setting it up. My top 3 lessons (the post at Reasoned has 15. Link in comment): 1. How an AI Agent does things (or not) depends on its own execution architecture, and also on the AI model you use. So if you're using GPT-4o, thinking it's cheaper, it will do nothing but talk like GPT-4o. When I switched from GPT-4o to Gemini 2.5 Flash, the same instruction files produced different results. Nothing else had changed. The reliability of any agent is limited the model it runs on. If there are multiple probabilistic steps being executed together, the scale and scope of errors compounds. 2. An AI Agent confirming it completed a task is not evidence the task was completed. I asked the agent to create a project. It gave me a detailed success message, but there were no files written to disk. Verification has to be built-in, but sometimes even that is not enough. 3. Agents can be lazy and sometimes default to the bare minimum action: which is not what you want...A command to create a project produced a single text file with the project name on it. That was the simplest response that could be called "creating a project." Everything else the command was supposed to trigger: generating a workspace, updating a registry, creating a task list, got skipped. Same way, an instruction to "Update the registry" produced a paragraph describing the update, but there was no update. More at Reasoned. Link in the next tweet.

Speaking on AI in Healthcare today at my alma mater @msosatweets. For fun, I built a Health Data Android app (yesterday and today) using Claude Code. Last week I built a symptoms tracker web app for someone.

Yesterday, on 11 April, we hosted a stakeholder consultation on the Draft IT Second Amendment Rules, 2026 with journalists, lawyers, and civil society. A very special thanks to @PrasanthTweets , @jatingandhi , Kabir Darshan S. , @sdhawan1 , Rachel Ariinii Judhistari, @nixxin and every participant who contributed to this consultation. We talked about safe harbour for intermediaries, censorship infrastructure, the shrinking space for public participation, and what these rules mean for everyday users who post news and opinions online. The insights from this discussion will shape our formal feedback to MeitY, due 29 April. We will continue to engage with this issue through multiple approaches and advocate for a rights-respecting framework as the consultation process moves forward. Have questions or concerns about the IT Rules? Write to us at mail@sflc.in or press@sflc.in And don't forget, you can submit your own comments to MeitY by 29 April at itrules.consultation@meity.gov.in Your voice matters. Use it.

Where @apar1984 & @nixxin explain how rules for blocking under Section 69A and the threat to the platforms claiming safe harbour under Section 79 of the Information Technology Act has been weaponized to create a censorship regime deccanherald.com/india/the-rise…

Outside of productive time this govt made me waste this weekend on fighting Digital Public Infrastructure for Censorship, so far, I have: 1. Set up VPS + dockers + two initial sites 2. Built an Android app I've always wanted (first cut). 3. Expanded a travel site I'm building

Six press organizations gathered at the Press Club of India on April 11 to demand the unconditional withdrawal of the Draft IT (Intermediary Guidelines & Digital Media Ethics Code) Amendment Rules 2026. The rules create a chilling effect on press freedom, threaten independent creators & expand unchecked censorship powers. Key demands:— ✅ Withdraw Rule 3(4) executive censorship powers ✅ Stop the 3-hour takedown diktat ✅ Halt the illegal Sahyog portal ✅ Consult journalists BEFORE drafting such laws #PressFreedom #ITRules2026 #FreeSpeech

I know it's pretty simple for most people but I ovecame a mini handicap yesterday by getting a VPS, setting up dockers, and launching two sites (a ghost install for Reasoned, and n8n for automation, if you want to know) with claude code's help last night. That, alongside setting up and connecting github, and a side-project website (still in the works) has made this a fulfilling week in tech-play for me. I didn't know how to do any of this before this week.
