Congratulations to Vivienne on winning Westminster Dog of the Year in memory of her master, Sir David Amess. I was very pleased that my own Stanley took second place, with Selaine Saxby's Henry coming third. Well done to all! 🐾🥈☺️

Sir David Amess was a strong, kind, Christian man who believed ardently in democracy and political service: concepts and qualities no murderer can erase. Whilst his loved ones have our sympathy in this moment, they can be sure that our respect for David will outlive the sorrow.

🚂 Today, I thanked the Transport Secretary for his support for the reopening of railway stations as part of our drive to net-zero. This includes Beeston Castle and Tarporley railway station which received the Government go-ahead to progress to the next stage of design.

.@cwaclabour showed they don’t listen tonight. Despite massive opposition they just voted to approve their flawed Waste Strategy and the #GreenBinTax it contains. Same old Labour – no ideas, no innovation, higher taxes and reduced services. Don’t forget it in 2023!
