🚨 Ice Water Rescue Training 🧊 We are wrapping up our NFPA 1006 Chapter 20 Ice/Water Rescue course! This challenging, hands‑on program is focused on operating safely and effectively in frozen and cold‑water environments. Throughout the course, our firefighters strengthened their skills in: ✓ Hazard recognition on ice and moving water ✓ Effective use of PPE and specialized rescue equipment ✓ Self‑rescue, victim‑rescue, and team‑based rescue techniques ✓ Communication, coordination, and decision‑making under pressure This week, the OFM is onsite conducting certification for the course. Our crews from Station 4-2 (Newmarket and 4-4 (Aurora) are being tested to meet provincial standards and are ready to respond when the community needs us most.
