New Jersey now has an estimated 9,548,215 residents, according to the latest data from the U.S. Census Bureau released today, a 2.8% population increase - or 259,210 new residents - since April 2020.

The Census estimates also show Toms River, New Jersey with a population of 100,899 - crossing the 100,000 mark for the first time.

According to the new U.S. Census Bureau’s Vintage 2025 estimates released today, Lakewood, New Jersey's population grew by over 6% between 2020 and 2025, and continues to stay ahead of Elizabeth for the fourth most populated town in the state. According to the Census, Lakewood's population is now at 143,765, trailing only Newark (323,808), Jersey City (302,013) and Paterson (161,793).

The FAA is investigating after the crew of United Airlines Flight 921 reported being struck by a green laser near New Jersey's Newark Airport Wednesday evening. The flight landed safely.

Woodbury City, New Jersey police are investigating what they say was a "targeted arrow attack" that injured a man earlier this week.
According to a statement, police were called for reports of a man who had been struck by an arrow in a wooded area, where they found the 65 year-old man with non life-threatening injuries.

Baraka, who has seen his profile rise amid a run for governor last year, is facing seven challengers on the ballot in the non-partisan election.
