We convened an Open Government Partnership (OGP) induction and co-creation forum in Makueni County, bringing together a diverse multi-stakeholder group to support the county’s reactivation and co-creation process. The forum brought together county government officials, civil society organizations (CSOs), community-based organizations (CBOs), and community representatives, providing a platform for dialogue, shared learning, and collaboration on governance priorities. The convening focused on strengthening understanding of OGP principles and processes, particularly the co-creation of Local Action Plans as a tool for addressing governance challenges. Participants engaged in discussions on public participation, transparency, accountability, and digital governance, while reflecting on past commitments and identifying priority areas for action. Deliberations also underscored the importance of inclusive and participatory governance, with emphasis on engaging women, youth, and persons with disabilities, as well as leveraging innovation to enhance service delivery. The forum marks an important step in advancing Makueni’s commitment to open governance and citizen-centered service delivery, through collaborative and accountable implementation of its OGP commitments. #OGPKenya #OGPLocal.
