During 2024, I traveled across our nation and around the world to continue our fight to fulfill the promise of America.

We welcomed students from across Washington, D.C. to celebrate the holidays with us. The ornaments they designed have filled our home with holiday cheer.

As Vice President, one of my greatest honors and privileges is to spend time with U.S. service members. Today, Doug and I spoke with many of them who are deployed overseas and away from their families to express our gratitude for all they do for our nation.

As the head of the first-ever White House Office of Gun Violence Prevention, I have met with survivors, advocates, students, and families who have been impacted by gun violence. I am proud to stand alongside them in the fight to save lives and keep our communities safe.

Doug and I celebrated Small Business Saturday with a visit to Bold Fork Books, a culinary bookshop in DC. Thank you to Clementine, Sam, and the whole team for showing us your amazing cookbook collection and for bringing joy and flavor to the community.

Yesterday, Doug and I spoke to U.S. service members deployed overseas to wish them a happy Thanksgiving. They have extraordinary skill, discipline, and dedication. They are an essential part of our nation’s strength. And we are forever grateful to them.

Each time I visit DC Central Kitchen, I am inspired by the work they do to uplift this community. Thank you for giving our family the opportunity to give back on Thanksgiving.

We are forever grateful for the sacrifice our service members and their families make to keep our nation safe and to defend our nation’s highest ideals. Doug and I were honored to spend time speaking with them this Thanksgiving.

Thanksgiving is about giving thanks for what we have and giving back to our communities. Our family was grateful to be back at DC Central Kitchen to volunteer for the holiday.

Today we come together to reflect on what we are thankful for, to share food and stories with family and friends, and to express our gratitude for all those who serve our nation. We are wishing you a very happy Thanksgiving.
