Retracted: Windows 12 "report." PCWorld basically retracting its own Windows 12 “exclusive” is the real story today. It shows how often rushed, inaccurate reporting is slipping into the tech cycle as publishing gets more competitive and, frankly, more desperate. Their editor even acknowledged the piece never should have gone live. What made it worse is how fast the original claim spread. One bad report about an “AI‑focused Windows 12 shipping this year” blew up across social and forums, even though Microsoft isn’t planning a Windows 12 launch in 2026 and is focused on stabilizing Windows 11 and dialing back AI bloat.
