My boyhood hero & a simply fantastic keeper for England & Derby. A master of his craft with a brilliant all-round game. A model of consistency with incredible longevity at the very highest level. A true goalkeeping legend 👏🙌. I will never forget how much I idolised him as a boy

Back in February 1992 a FA Cup tie between Derby and @AVFCOfficial produced 7 goals. #UTV ran out 4-3 winners with Garry Parker scoring this screamer at the Baseball Ground. Dwight Yorke got a hat-trick too.

@HistoryWJacob I just really admire FDR for the strength he had in pushing through with what he had to live with and the role he played along with our Winston in World War 2. He was a truly great man. As for Lincoln, his intelligence, wisdom and leadership have always really impressed me

@CharmOfCulture @simon_schama There is just something very special about the photos from that time. Like a true time machine back into the past. It truly does capture something of the great man for us to see all these years later.

Did you know the Duke of Wellington lived long enough to be photographed? This image, taken in 1844, captures Arthur Wellesley, the hero of Waterloo, in one of the earliest photographs ever taken.

@retrofootballnw @AVFCOfficial This was a classic game for Derby County. Particularly for Phil Gee. It's included in the Great Days of Derby County book even though we lost.

“Naked Gun 33⅓: The Final Insult” opened at a theater near you 32 years ago today, March 18, 1994, the third and last ride for Frank Drebin, spun out of “Police Squad!”. The ‘33⅓’ is reference to LP record speed; the original subtitle (‘Just for the Record’) was scrapped when Paramount decided the joke would fly over heads. And yes… the sperm bank scene lives forever.

@cta84 It's crazy absolutely crazy. It's our history. It defines who we are. They made our Country great. Why should we not honour and celebrate that. Why on earth would we not do that. It goes against everything I've learnt from when I was a little boy. So sad, so very sad.

The Two Ronnies (1st November 1980). A version of this sketch originally featured in The Burkiss Way but David Renwick initially wasn't sure if it would work for the Rons. However, with deadlines looming he dusted it down and realised it wasn't too shabby ....
