FIFA has opted not to take action against the Israel Football Association (IFA) regarding its teams playing in the West Bank after a complaint was lodged by the Palestinian Football Association (PFA) in 2024. FIFA’s Governance, Audit and Compliance Committee (GACC) determined no action should be taken as “the final legal status of the West Bank remains an unresolved and highly complex matter under public international law”.
