"If Britain, France, Germany and others instructed an oil tanker to go to Cuba to deliver oil, would the US really bomb that oil tank?" asks @JeremyCorbyn. "Our government’s failure to even ask itself that question is proof of its political cowardice and moral bankruptcy." Read the full article here: novara.media/47r2xvR.

The British press is now trying to convince you that the only Jewish leader of a UK political party is antisemitic. Do they think we are stupid? Boycott the press, and press on with bringing about hope and change. We love you Zack 💚

Iran is exporting oil to China at much greater volume than before the war while Venezuelan oil continues to flow to China So much for Trump's 5D chess to choke off Chinese energy supply

This is such a strange post that I wonder if it doesn't carry a hidden message. This is Japan's ambassador to France saying he's on his way to Tokyo to welcome Macron during his visit there, next to a statue of Tintin which has been his "faithful companion that's always followed me for 37 years." But: 1) What's the link between Tintin and the topic at hand? Tintin is a Belgian comic book series about a reporter. 2) Anyone who's read Tintin knows that probably the most salient political message in the entire book series is its fierce denunciation of Japanese militarism and imperialism. The "Lotus Bleu" and "Tintin au Tibet" are essentially love letters to China and scathing indictments of Japanese aggression. Tintin is arguably the most pro-China, anti-Japan cultural artifact in all of modern European popular culture. Strange choice of "faithful companion" for Tokyo's man in Paris. There's of course an innocent reading to this where he's just a quirky diplomat who loves Tintin and either doesn't see the political message or assumes his audience won't. Hard to believe from someone who himself says he's been a fan of Tintin for 37 years and whose entire profession is the careful calibration of signals and symbols. Another read is that it's a subtle warning with plausible deniability, through a cultural reference that casually looks charming but that anyone who knows the books and current context would find pointed. The context of course being that Japan is being pulled into two simultaneous crises by its alliance with Washington - a war on Iran that's choking off its energy supply, and a confrontation with China so charged that Beijing's own embassy in Japan has taken to citing the Mukden incident of 1931 (zaobao.com.sg/realtime/china…). For those who haven't read Tintin's Lotus Bleu, that is precisely where the story begins.

Yesterday, about 30 minutes after being violently arrested again at an anti-war protest in Tel Aviv, while six of us were already in the police van, an officer climbed in. He grabbed me by my hair, beat me, and choked me. Nothing new here. I’m fine, of course - this is just how it is. This is the face of the Israeli Apartheid regime. Israel never was a democracy, and it will never be one. Apartheid, of course, is not legitimate. Don't normalize it. Shut it down. I'm very proud of my comrades. I love you all and I'm proud to get beaten up with you 🫶 Video by the amazing photojournalist @flom_jess ❣️

I promise you, you don’t hate the British enough. This film is excellent in showing the British role in Zionist settler-colonialism. I had to watch it in a few sittings because I got too angry and distraught at the horrific scenes. It’s even worse when you see it from 2026 —90 years later and the Palestinians are getting genocided. You watch in the film how Palestinians aren’t at all prepared or understand the nature of the beast that’s invaded them, steals their land, tortures them, disarms them, murders them wantonly, they can’t predict how long this would last. Even the upper class Palestinian traitors betray because they misdiagnose the severity of what’s happening. On the one hand you have the brutal British colonial regime that specializes in oppression, and on the other hand, well-organized highly politicized Zionist Jews and Jews (who aren’t yet Zionists not entirely won over, yet they indirectly contribute to the cause of Zionism) moving there to establish a state, they hit the ground running, they control right-wing organizations, left-wing organizations, they work with British colonizers. They have monopoly over everything. While you have peaceful Palestinian village peasants absolutely unprepared/even unable to imagine this kind of brutality that’s unleashed on them. Palestinian workers in the city also unable to organize as effectively as the Jewish counterparts who come from countries with long established unions and socialist parties - on top of the Palestinians being disarmed and the colonial government working in favor of Zionists.

Before the Opium Wars, Britain was deeply in debt to China. Forcing drugs onto China, and then China refusing, only to fight Britain for not wanting them AKA the Opium Wars, is how Britain broke China and kidnapped Hong Kong as a bonus. No Chinese has ever forgotten this.

The most trusted newspaper in Japan is the Shimbun Akahata which is the Japanese Communist Party’s newspaper. They did the investigative journalism on the LDP’s slush fund scandal in 2024 and ended up destroying Shinzo Abe’s faction and causing complete chaos for the LDP.
