The PTPA acknowledges the ATP paying the full cost of charter flights for players departing Fujairah. This decision follows the concerns raised by players and the PTPA earlier this week. It is the right outcome and a meaningful step toward prioritizing player safety and welfare. We also want to recognize the top WTA player who stepped forward and offered to help join us in covering travel costs for fellow players. Many other players also reached out to support the concerns raised earlier this week, reflecting the unity within the player community during challenging moments. For any player who is unable to access the ATP-arranged charter flights, the PTPA’s offer to provide financial assistance remains in place. We want to ensure that every player has a safe and viable path home. We are encouraged that athletes are not required to pay out of pocket to leave the UAE during this heightened period of uncertainty. When extraordinary circumstances arise, player safety must come first, and the financial burden should never fall on the athletes.

It is a solutions oriented framework delivering immediate, tangible benefits for approximately 600 top men and women players. This is about reforming professional tennis. As outlined here, that includes increased compensation, financial security, equal pay, improved scheduling and recovery, revamped anti-doping rules, and independent player representation. These are real changes designed to impact players now while building a stronger future for professional tennis. There is no breakaway tour or rival league. This is about reforming tennis from within.

Tennis players are standing up for a fairer system that protects their rights, health, and safety and moves the sport forward.
