Land Day began as a protest against Israeli land confiscation, In 1976 Palestinian citizens rose against confiscation of their land.
Israeli forces killed six Palestinian protesters in the Galilee demos, Land Day became a symbol of land and collective identity, Land serves as the collective memory of belonging and the right to remain.
In Gaza land still exists but access is increasingly denied, Near the Yellow Line families see land they cannot reach, Land becomes divided by forced separation and occupation’s restrictions. From 1976 until today, the struggle over land continues.
