We need to talk about the absolute epidemic of the "professional victim" mentality. It is exhausting watching people get behind the wheel under the influence, or choose to act violently toward innocent people, only to instantly cry "victim" the second they are held accountable. Let’s be completely clear: You are not the victim of the situation you actively created. When you make the conscious choice to endanger everyone around you, you forfeit the right to sympathy. Yet, we live in a cycle where people completely disregard the safety and well-being of others, expecting zero fallout. And here is the most dangerous part: Zero consequences breeds a delusion of invincibility. Every single time society slaps these people on the wrist, we are just fueling their main-character syndrome. They get bolder. They act out worse. They genuinely start to believe the rules of civilized society don't apply to them. Meanwhile, who pays the price? Innocent families whose lives are shattered in seconds. Business owners dealing with destroyed property. Everyday people just trying to get home safe. The trauma and financial ruin get passed on to the victims, while the perpetrators walk away looking for their next pity party. Accountability isn't cruelty; it’s a necessity. If we don't start enforcing real, painful consequences for this reckless behavior, the lawlessness is only going to get worse. Stop coddling people who treat other human lives like collateral damage.
