Peace Education Engagement in the Western North Region 🇬🇭 Yesterday, the Western North Regional Peace Council (WNRPC), in collaboration with the National Commission for Civic Education, organized a Peace Education and Sensitization programme for students of Bright Life Junior High School. The engagement aimed at promoting awareness of peaceful coexistence, respect for diversity, and personal safety among students, while also introducing them to the mandate of the National Peace Council. In his presentation, Shadat Fusseni highlighted the concept of diversity within the school environment, noting that students come from varied cultural, religious, and social backgrounds. He emphasized the importance of inclusiveness, encouraging students to respect one another and contribute to creating a harmonious school environment. Students were urged to consciously promote unity and peaceful interaction in their daily activities. Stephen Owusu of the National Commission for Civic Education also educated students on their rights and responsibilities, with particular emphasis on personal safety. He sensitized students on issues such as kidnapping and abduction, stressing the need for vigilance and caution, especially outside the school environment. Students were advised to avoid interactions with strangers, refrain from accepting gifts from unknown persons, and report any suspicious activities to trusted adults. The programme provided students with practical knowledge on conflict prevention and management, as well as measures to ensure their safety in and outside the school environment. This initiative forms part of ongoing efforts by the National Peace Council and its partners to instill values of tolerance, responsibility, and peaceful coexistence among young people. #PeaceEducation #NationalPeaceCouncil #WesternNorthRegion #NCCE #Peacebuilding #Ghana @followers @topfans
