Combined with improved ventilation it usually doesn’t cause any major issues.

Nerve stimulation to assist with locating that capricious wee nerve to vastus medialis. One shows direct stimulation of sartorius muscle (wrong plane) the other shows a patella twitch (correct). Correct interpretation is key

But yes, aiming away would have slightly alleviated my palpitations!

Peri-aortic rectus sheath block 😳. Makes me wonder how we don’t have more inadvertent major vessel injuries during blind trocar placements in thin patients.

@ashwani_doc @ESRA_Society @RegionalAnaesUK @ESRA_trainees 105 yr old 40kg #NOF today for hemiarthroplasty. CSA with 1.6ml 1% Chloroprocaine (usual single shot dose is 4-5ml) Stable CVS and 1.5hrs of anaesthesia!

I.5 hrs gynae surgery, #FUSIC Dilated LV and LA, 20% EF, implanted ICD: Continuous spinal anaesthesia #CSA with intrathecal Cather saved the day 😅😅 Happy and safe pt @ESRA_Society @RegionalAnaesUK @DrRobbieErskine @ESRA_trainees #POCUS
