Your history lesson of the day: In 1941, Nazi Germans confined over 50,000 innocent Jews into “an open air prison” in a small district within the occupied Polish city of Białystok, known as “Białystok Ghetto”. For years, they were subjected to oppression and humiliation, and no one in the world cared about them and their deteriorated situation. Naturally, feeling desperate and having nothing left to live for, the Jews decided to fight back in 1943. The result: The Nazis called them “human animals”, cut supplies to the ghetto, and started large scale bombing and destruction of the ghetto.
