For this photo session on the 1994 Division Bell tour, the band had an interesting backdrop - the outdoor staging setup, with certain key elements to be revealed during the show...

Six months after their last appearance there, Pink Floyd returned to New York City's Carnegie Hall for a brace of shows to play their new work, with a temporary name changed to Eclipse rather than the more familiar title The Dark Side Of The Moon.

This 1970 advert includes a fairly accurate drawing of Pink Floyd, for their Santa Monica show which kicked off with Grantchester Meadows and concluded with an encore of A Saucerful Of Secrets.

From 1967...with Pink Floyd appearing as dawn started to break on the 30th.

A very happy birthday to Polly Samson! A best-selling novelist, she has co-written songs for Pink Floyd and David Gilmour since Pink Floyd’s 1994 album ‘The Division Bell’, and most recently, David's Luck And Strange album.

Legendary British DJ John Peel's review of this 1969 show, recorded for Ummagumma, included the description of the band's sound "like cries of dying galaxies lost in sheer corridors of time and space..."

The first of two nights in a row, recording Pink Floyd's set for the Ummagumma release. Unfortunately there were technical issues so this show wasn't committed to tape. The set list was Astronomy Domine, Careful With That Axe, Eugene, Interstellar Overdrive, Green Is The Colour, a rare 1969 outing for Pow R Toc H, Set The Controls, and A Saucerful of Secrets.

A backstage pass for one of the string of six shows in six consecutive days Pink Floyd performed at the LA Sports Arena in 1975, one of which was bootlegged with care by the late Mike Millard, was recently polished up by Steven Wilson, and made available for Floyd fans worldwide to enjoy via the WYWH50 releases, including on 4LP vinyl at last week's Record Store Day, and as at yesterday, worldwide as a 2CD release.

Released today in 1968 was Pink Floyd's fourth UK single, It Would Be So Nice, which had Julia Dream on the B-side. They were filmed in Rome, Italy, miming to the track, which was then shown in May 1968 on "Rome Goes Pop": youtube.com/watch?v=0USA71…
