Braxton Jones tells us he has entered the transfer portal with 1-2 years of eligibility remaining. His freshman year he attended Hartford while they were D1, he averaged 5 PPG (10.3 MPG), 42% FG, 39% 3PT, & 71% FT. As a sophomore in JUCO he was named to All-Conference 2nd Team. He averaged 19 PPG, #3 PPG (KJCCC), #1 3PT PPG (KJCCC). His junior year at Southern Indiana he averaged 6 PPG 80% FT. Versatile lead guard who can score, stretch the floor, and compete at a high level. @BraxtonJones22

Here we go again. Basketball deals coming in hot! Busy season Part II at @HEITNERLEGAL. The contracts are becoming more complex. No athlete should be negotiating #NIL deals without legal counsel. Pay a little now to protect your best interests or potentially a lot more later on!
Darren Heitner@heitner

This football cycle has been incredibly busy, and I am grateful for the opportunity to represent athletes navigating #NIL license agreements, collective deals, and multi-media rights contracts. I have reviewed, negotiated, and advised on agreements involving more than 30 schools, including Purdue, Kansas, Texas, Iowa State, Florida, Michigan State, Oklahoma, Duke, Ohio State, Louisville, Tulane, Tennessee, Kansas State, Cincinnati, Texas Tech, Baylor, Penn State, Washington State, Georgia, South Carolina, Wisconsin, Auburn, Indiana, Arizona State, Kentucky, SMU, Michigan, Virginia, West Virginia, and Alabama. Additionally, I have handled numerous deals for the Canes Connection at Miami, where the player-first focus continues to stand out. Each negotiation requires careful attention to detail, which includes scrutinizing broad license grants, pushing back on overly restrictive termination or forfeiture clauses, protecting future mobility in the transfer portal, and ensuring compensation terms align with the athlete's contributions. These are not simple form agreements. They often involve significant leverage imbalances. The work underscores that experienced counsel is essential in this space. Athletes deserve a thorough review and advocacy to secure fair terms that protect their rights while maximizing value.

Why invest in college sports? College presidents, board members, athletic directors, admissions offices, and fundraising teams know that successful athletics enrolls students, fills beds, and builds new buildings. Florida Gulf Coast’s admissions applications increased over 27% after their Sweet 16 run. Visits on the FGCU admissions page jumped from 2,280 to 42,793. Butler’s applications nearly tripled after two Final Fours while the university was able to build, expand, and upgrade $255M in campus facilities including a business school and a new arts center. George Mason’s admissions office inquiries went up 350% after their Final Four run in 2006 including a 54% increase in out-of-state applications. In the 1980’s, John Chaney’s men’s basketball program changed the landscape of Temple University as a whole helping increase freshmen enrollment by 18.1% and transfer enrollment by 6.1%. Nick Saban’s football program helped propel the University of Alabama. Between 2007 and 2022, enrollment at Alabama increased by 51%, from 25,580 to 38,645 students. In that same time, the college more than tripled its endowment, surpassing a record $1 billion in 2022. It also has nearly doubled its physical footprint, adding an engineering quad and state-of-the-art dorms and recreational facilities.

One of the most underrated skills in recruiting: Finding recruits who actually love basketball more than the attention basketball brings.

🇫🇷🇸🇳Seydina Faye — Under-the-Radar Prospect Profile 6’7 Guard/Wing 7’3 Wingspan Freshman — Pratt Community College French / Senegalese Season Production •12 PPG •6 RPG •51% FG ⸻ Scouting Overview Saydina Faye is a long and versatile two-way guard prospect who quietly put together a strong freshman season at Pratt CC. Standing 6’7 with an impressive 7’3 wingspan, he possesses intriguing physical tools that translate well to modern wing play. Offensively, Faye showed efficient scoring ability, averaging 12 points per game on 51% shooting. He plays within the flow of the offense, finishing well around the rim and showing flashes of athleticism above the rim in transition and attacking the basket. Defensively, his length and mobility allow him to guard multiple positions, effectively covering 1 through 3. His wingspan disrupts passing lanes and gives him the potential to become a high-impact perimeter defender. ⸻ Key Traits • Elite length for a guard (7’3 wingspan) • Two-way versatility on both ends of the floor • Athletic finisher above the rim • Defensive upside guarding 1–3 • Efficient scoring profile ⸻ Development & Projection Faye is a hard-working prospect who continues to develop each season, and his combination of size, athleticism, and defensive versatility has already started drawing interest from multiple Division I programs across the country. With continued skill development and offensive expansion, he has the tools to become a high-level two-way wing at the next level. 📈 Status: Under-the-radar prospect to monitor closely. @defaut_zero @seydina_faye7 @JUCOadvocate @JC4PT @JUCOroundup @JucoRecruiting
