Congratulations to Coach Joe Conefry and our 8th Grade Red Team on their win in the Winter League Championship Game!!  This particular group has only been playing together for a few months.  They have made tremendous progress in a short period of time.  Great job boys!!  Keep working hard!!

Congratulations to Coach Joe Conefry and our Girls 3rd Grade Red Team on their win in the Winter League Championship Game!!  Very proud of this group of girls and all of the 3rd Grade Girls in our travel program.  Year 1 of the “game experience” is challenging.  The girls learned/ developed new skills and learned about proper spacing, movement, and overall offensive/ defensive concepts.  This group has made a lot of progress over the course of just one year.  Keep working hard girls!!

Smash 101 is a youth sports company that will provide badminton clinics, camps, and teams to student-athletes in 3rd Grade through 12th Grade.  Smash 101 will also provide pickle ball instruction as well as competition for children and adults.

Very proud of 3rd Grade Blue today!! They SHARED THE BALL, played solid help defense, and made very good decisions when it came to driving to the rim. They also got their first win of the fall season!! It has been awesome to watch the progress that all of our 3rd grade teams have made in a short period of time.

Always a great time catching up with two close friends and mentors of mine - Coach David Duke of Adelphi University and Coach Joe Conefry of Molloy University.  David and Joe have had a bunch of success as coaches and it will only continue for them.  Coach Joe Conefry is the newly named Head Men’s Basketball Coach at Division 2 Molloy University after having tremendous success while leading the Holy Trinity HS Boys Basketball program for many years.  This past year, Coach David Duke was named NE-10 Coach of the Year, All-Met Division 2 Coach of the Year, and led the team to a first place finish in the NE-10 Conference, as well as a birth in the NCAA Division 2 Tournament.  It has been an awesome experience working with both of them over the course of a lot of years.  Time flies!!

Week 6 of Hoops 101 Summer Camp is off to a great start!! We are very fortunate to have Molloy University Men’s Basketball Coach Joe Conefry leading our camp this week. Coach Joe is one of the best around in the coaching space. Coach Joe has taken and will continue to take the Hoops 101 program to a very high level when it comes to the skill development, training, and coaching of the players in our program. We look forward to another fun and productive week!!

It’s been another fun summer of Hoops 101 camps, leagues, and clinics. Some of the kids from our older group at camp this week are seen in the top part of the photo and the winners of the 3rd/ 4th grade summer league are seen in the bottom part of the photo. Very proud of all of these boys - they have become very good players in a short period of time. They all grow up fast too!! Time flies!!

Week 4 of Hoops 101 Summer Camp is off to a great start!! The camp is going through our daily warmup and will move into our efficient dribbling/ footwork segment next. Look forward to another productive and positive day!!

Week 3 of Hoops 101 Summer Camp went fast!! The kids worked very hard, improved, and had a lot of fun. We look forward to finishing this week on a positive note and we look forward to the start of Week 4 on Monday!!

Our Girls Summer League is off to a great start!! The girls are having a lot of fun competing in games and continuing to learn and improve. The first two weeks have gone by fast - the kids and the staff look forward to finishing the month of July strong!!

Congratulations to my close friend and Head Coach of Adelphi University Men’s Basketball Team, Dave Duke, for being recognized as the All MET Division 2 Coach of the Year!! Dave, his players, and his staff had a special season!!

Congratulations to one of my closest friends and one of our Hoops 101 coaches, Joe Conefry, on being named the next Men’s Basketball Coach of Molloy University, a local Division 2 program.  Joe is one of the best coaches in the game and has completed a very successful run as the Head Boys Varsity Coach at Holy Trinity High School.  Hoops 101 is extremely proud of Joe and we look forward to continuing to have him work with our program!!

Very proud of our 6th Grade White Team and the way that they played yesterday.  This group of kids can really pass and does a great job sharing the ball.  Intense defense from the start of the game, constant driving and kicking within our motion, extra pass followed by extra pass - fun to watch!!  Great job to all of the players.  Keep working and keep improving!!

Very proud of our 8th Grade Blue team!! They are part of an 8th Grade group of teams that have been a part of the Hoops 101 program for the past 7-8 years. Many of them began learning the sport as Kindergarteners and 1st Graders in our weekly clinics. Time flies!! This group of boys played solid TEAM basketball last night, shared the ball, and defended/ rebounded when the game was on the line. Proud of all of you!!

Awesome time at the St. John’s - UConn game today!!  It was special to be able to spend the day with one of my closest friends Vinny, my 3 nephews, my sister and her husband, and our Hoops 101 players and families!!  The atmosphere was electric!!

Very proud of Port Washington HS Senior Kenny Daly for leading his team to a regular season 1st Place finish in the conference, and also for being recognized as an All-County Player!! Kenny worked really hard over the course of the past several years.  He is definitely a player who understands and implements “On Your Own” in order to get results on the court in games.  The extra shots, the extra strength workouts, the extra ball handling - it has and will continue to pay off.   Great job Kenny!!  Very proud of you!!

Great catching up with Air Force Academy freshman Kyle Marshall after his game against UNLV is Las Vegas, NV.  He started the game yesterday and has started a bunch of games for Air Force this year. I had the privilege of coaching Kyle for 4 years at St. Dominic High School (2018-2022), prior to his attending Millbrook Prep School.  He is now a freshman basketball player at one of the best schools in the country, competing at the highest level of college basketball. Grateful to have had the opportunity to coach a very nice young man, and a very hard working and talented player!! Great kid and great parents!!  Keep working hard Kyle!! Proud of you!!
