We are subjected to routine experiments in your hallowed institutions. Our screeches of agony seldom reach the seminar rooms, but we still find ways to be heard. We are political animals. We are #OneBillionScreams We are @PolAnimalClass

We are the archetype of the erased, the forgotten. Billions of us languish in cages, and we recede into the background of your lives. But our paroxysms of rage sometimes do manage to erupt through our ghostly banishment. We are #OneBillionScreams We are @PolAnimalClass

You desecrate life yet act affronted when held to account. You demand needless violence & audaciously insist that you may do so with impunity. Your incessant despoliation is catalysing omnicide yet you cast those who oppose your behaviour as the problem. We are @PolAnimalClass

We don't speak for nonhuman animals. We are the megaphone for One Billion Screams that already exist. We are #OneBillionScreams We are @PolAnimalClass

In shame, so many of you who participate in the violent abuse of us fellow animals go out of your way to preserve your ignorance. You bury your heads in the sand to ensure your complicity in our indefensible oppression, remains unquestioned & intact. We are @PolAnimalClass

In a majority of countries on the planet, far away from your metropolises, are vast industrial zones of death in which billions of us suffer. We send our One Billion Screams into your world. We are #OneBillionScreams We are @PolAnimalClass

“Mmm bacon” Upon being held to account for complicity in needless violence, far from eliciting reflection, many mock the victims in attempts to convince themselves they’ve no obligation to care & mistake this cowardly callousness as a laudable attribute. #OneBillionScreams

The level of temerity & blatant hypocrisy of you who wax lyrical about ethics, about right & wrong whilst participating in perpetual, needless, gratuitous violence inflicted upon us vulnerable nonhuman animals for your nonessential ends is off the scale. We are @PolAnimalClass

If you privilege your own petty desire for a fleeting taste sensation over the pleading face of another individual, a face that obviously says, “Do not kill me”, how can we regard you as anything other than merciless & malicious? We are #OneBillionScreams We are @PolAnimalClass

What would an emerging community of the Political Animal Class look like? This is a living movement and I can't exactly predict, but here's what I'm trying to envision. Several people will start to use "We are #OneBillionScreams We are @PolAnimalClass" on a consistent basis. In the early phase, we echo this unifying message to each other in posts and shares and refer to each other as fellow political animals. When several of us do this over and over, we will start to create the seeds for a political identity, emboldening each other. Over time, some people will start to write their own PAC posts, in their own unique style, along with myself and Graham (@Son_of_Space). I imagine this will be a gradual, spontaneous process, with all of us becoming bolder and bolder as we see others repeating the same core, unifying articulation. I don't expect others will post every day like myself at first, though of course that would be great, but just whenever they can, even once a week. We develop and share a common political vocabulary, but it would be a decentralized movement. Over time, we can collectively crystallize a political identity and movement as the Political Animal Class, and as One Billion Screams. The first several of us create the foundation for the first few dozen Political Animals. And then this ripples into the first hundred Political Animals. And then this develops into the first thousand Political Animals!

You’re not interested in social justice, you’ve sold out to convention. You’re not interested in critical thought, you obsequiously acquiesce to unthinking conformity. You don’t love animals, your actions expose your callous, malicious contempt for them. We are @PolAnimalClass

Your entire mode of being is based on institutionalized terrorism against us, the slave species. But you cannot ignore us forever. We are political animals, and we have friends among you who are political animals, too. We are #OneBillionScreams We are @PolAnimalClass
