On 10 May 2026, Kieran Manuel raised more than £600 for Police Care UK when he ran the AJ Bell Great Bristol Half Marathon to support past, present and future police colleagues. “Day in and day out, I see officers put themselves on the frontline to protect the public,” Kieran said prior to his lung busting effort. “But who looks after them when the blue lights stop and the stab vest goes in the locker?” Police Care UK provide specialist trauma support and financial assistance to serving and retired officers who have experienced harm in their role. “It’s important to raise money for a charity that looks after the officers that came before me, those who work beside me and those yet to come. Donations will be invaluable when the weight of the job becomes too heavy.” Thank you, Kieran, for helping ensure no one faces the impact of harm through policing alone. You can still support Kieran’s efforts here > justgiving.com/page/kieran-ma… #GreatBristolHalf #MentalHealthMatters #PoliceCareUK

Anu is taking on the National Three Peaks Challenge on June 6 in aid of Police Care UK to push himself, improve his fitness and help raise awareness and funds for an important cause. “Police regularly face stressful situations, so having the right support in place for their mental wellbeing is really important so they can continue protecting the public,” he says. “This felt like a great way to support the charity while taking on a personal challenge. If it helps raise awareness and funds for such an important cause, then it’s definitely worth it.” Team Police Care UK aims to raise more than £3,500 for the delivery of life-changing specialist trauma therapy and financial assistance for those who have experienced physical or psychological harm in policing. Writing a Will is one of the most meaningful ways to care for the people you love. It brings clarity at a difficult time - and for many supporters, it’s also a chance to leave a legacy that reflects what they stood for. For John, a Police Care UK beneficiary, that choice was simple: “Police Care UK helped me when everything came flooding out. Leaving a Gift in my Will means someone will be there to catch the next person when they reach that point.” A gift in your Will helps ensure that when someone in the police community is harmed through their work, they have somewhere safe to turn for specialist therapy and support. It’s a lasting act of care for the people who step forward when others step back. If you’d like to understand the difference your legacy could make, you can explore it here > policecare.org.uk/leave-a-gift-i… Members of the police family can also access a free Will consultation through our partner Harvey Howell Solicitors > harveyhowell.co.uk #MentalHealthMatters #GiftsInWills #FreeWillWritingMonth #PoliceCareUK

Charity runner Megan Haig steps on to the line at Sunday’s Bognor Regis 10km Road Race to thank Police Care UK for helping her family in their hour of need. Megan - who has never run for a minute, let alone an hour - is raising money in the knowledge either herself or a colleague may need our help in the future. “Research shows one in five police will experience PTSD or Complex PTSD, so it's highly likely some of my colleagues or even myself, will need some help throughout our careers,” she says. “They are entirely funded by donations and fundraising, and help those harmed by their policing role, therefore, I want to give back and help them to continue their vital work.” To support Megan’s fundraising efforts visit > justgiving.com/page/megan359 Good luck, Megan. This Sunday, Cleveland Police officer Chris Kelsey takes on the Gateshead Half Marathon to raise funds for Police Care UK. Chris was diagnosed with PTSD seven years ago following his earlier military career. His own experience of trauma and recovery has inspired him to help ensure police officers and staff can access support when they need it most. “Police officers do an exceptionally difficult job and experience trauma on a regular basis. Your donations will help ensure they get the help they need and deserve,” he says. Chris has already raised £445 towards his £1,000 target. You can read his story and support his fundraising here > justgiving.com/page/christoph… Good luck, Chris - and thank you for supporting the police family. #GatesheadHalf #Fundraising #MentalHealthMatters #PoliceCareUK
