at some point people need to engage in conversations about colourism without defaulting to the idea that darkskinned women are “jealous of lightskinned women” whenever they speak on it. it flattens the discussion and that’s why these conversations go nowhere.

you guys hate dark-skinned women, that’s it. you hate their skin, their hair, their features, their visibility. the sooner people stop dressing it up as “i just don’t like that colour on her” or “i just don’t like this-” and confront what it actually is and why, the better.
