@GlobalMoo That's one way to look at it. That's not the way I look at it. I believe fledgling, young artists should be supported so that that they eventually develop enough support from the public to eke out a living. Not everyone is or can be Fleetwood Mac of The Eagles out of the gate.

This is nuts. A punitive measure nobody has callled for. It will prevent tremendous artists from crossing what up until now has been a friendly border. Please don't do this, America.

@SlavaMalamud Of course, Slava. Thank you for your outspokenness. It's greatly appreciated. I have followed Navalny's YouTube account, but there were some things I wasn't aware of that the doc covered. It's a tragedy that many Russians aren't deeply angered by what's happened to their country.

@Proteautype Thank you, Adam. BTW, the film contained nothing new for those who have followed Navalny's YouTube channel. Unfortunately, Russians, who have had this information for 2 years now, have not been moved much.

Got a chance to watch "Navalny", which won the Oscar for best documentary film. It is astonishing. Anybody who still supports Putin after this film -- including prominent NHLers -- deserve every ounce of criticism they get. This is a sinister government that should be ended.

@GlobalMoo I disagree. If you ask musicians and performers, they'll tell you it's tough enough to survive as a travelling artist -- and touring is really the only way they make money nowadays -- and this is an unexplained, unfair rise in costs that will prevent many of them from touring.

@Proteautype Its a non story $1600 USD is fair. If you were a plumber going to US to work and earn for a couple weeks it would cost allot more than that and you would make less on your tour.

Wow. We all know East Coast Canadians are some of the best people on the planet, but this is beyond heartwarming. They're heroes, really. Thank you very much, citizens of Heart's Delight-Islington.

@dagmar27 For sure. I think Jon Stewart called him the worst interviewee he's ever had. What a guy.

As a professional interviewer, I don't think Hugh Grant wanted to be interviewed right there. Uncomfortableness abounded.

Seriously -- Marcel the Shell With Shoes On was one of the very best movies I've seen in a long time. Endlessly charming and heartwarming. If you watch only one movie from this year's nominees, make it this one.

I don't think anyone is cooler than Pedro Pascal. If Idris Elba isn't the next James Bond, let Pedro have it.
