Today, steel beams are rising once again at the Illinois Quantum and Microelectronics Park, where PsiQuantum will deploy America's first utility-scale quantum computer. A full-circle moment for South Chicago—forged in steel and made possible by the world-changing promise of quantum technology.

PsiQuantum’s R&D facility in the UK’s North West region is one of my favorite things about this team and its mission. Beyond thrilled that we’re sharing more about this special place with the world today on the heels of a historic announcement from the UK Government.

The United Kingdom has long been ahead of the curve in recognizing the world-changing potential of quantum computing, and public-sector support has a vital role to play in the UK's continued leadership in quantum. PsiQuantum's deep UK roots include four co-founders with extensive academic experience at the University of Bristol and Imperial College—as well as our pioneering R&D facility at the @STFC_Matters campus in Daresbury. This week, @HMTreasury announced a historic new investment to establish the National Cryogenic Facility at STFC Daresbury, which will enable PsiQuantum to accelerate and scale our advanced testing in Daresbury as we continue toward building the world's first utility-scale quantum computers. PsiQuantum and @nvidia have partnered to bring the CUDA-Q platform to PsiQuantum’s software platform Construct and Workbench tool, accelerating research on utility-scale quantum algorithms.​ This integration enables GPU-accelerated state-vector simulation, delivering up to 450× faster performance compared to CPU-based simulation.​ Developers can now validate and benchmark complex quantum algorithms at scales previously impractical with CPU-based simulators.​ Early access to the integration is available by request, allowing Construct users to experience the benefits of GPU acceleration for their largest simulation workloads. bit.ly/416OkAm

Building new partnerships to deliver on utility-scale quantum computing's full potential in healthcare. The result: A perfect 300mm wafer of BTO for our optical switch. We ship our 300mm BTO wafers to @GlobalFoundries in upstate New York, where we combine our perfect switching material with state-of-the-art semiconductor manufacturing to produce the world's best optical switch.

We start with raw barium, titanium, and strontium. In the ultra-high vacuum growing chamber, we maintain cryogenic temperatures alongside 1500°C heat. This extreme environment allows us to boil off the raw materials atom by atom, growing our BTO crystal atomic layer by atomic layer.
