My timeline is full of rape cases and dowry deaths. Being a woman and staying aware of the news every single day is genuinely terrifying and heartbreaking. And how many more deaths before things finally start changing??

A former Judge is now casually playing psychiatrist, moral authority and character assessor over her dead daughter-in-law. Antidepressants do not make someone schizophrenic. Mood swings are not proof of drug abuse. Refusing to fast, pray or water plants is not a measure of character. What is missing from her statements? Empathy. Compassion. Humanity. Not grief for a young woman who entered their home believing it was her family, but a relentless attempt to scrutinise and discredit someone who is no longer alive to defend herself. #JusticeForTwisha

No matter how educated, rich or evolved a family looks, we as a whole society are still not ready to see the value of women as individuals.
It is very easy to preach & tweet that a divorced woman is better than dead, you clearly don't see the lives of unmarried/divorced 30+yo.

Twisha's death is proof that many Indian parents think their daughter is a commodity that is delivered to the in-laws and has no return policy.
