General view at the resettlement camp...many displaced families had evacuated from their homes. The five-day border fighting had claimed at least 33 people and displaced thousands.

Cambodia is peaceful. A local reporter on the frontlines says it’s quiet. Calm. The way it should be. Pray and hope it sticks. No more escalation. War is ugly for both sides. Innocent people get caught in the crossfire—and sometimes don’t make it. There is destruction. There is no beauty in war. It took humility yesterday for two leaders to come together, discuss a way forward, and shake hands. Thanks to President Trump for pushing the leaders to the table. Thanks to Malaysia for providing a safe space.

Preah Vihear sustained damage from Thai shelling during the recent conflict. It’s disheartening to see a World Heritage site hit like this. What was the point? Why was this even necessary?
