If you attend many of these big churches in Lagos, be very careful what you consume from the pulpit this period, because I genuinely think a memo has been sent to many of them. The patterns are becoming too loud to ignore. Most of the topics, sermons, statements, and even program themes I’ve been seeing from some of these big churches are psychologically constructed to make Nigerians emotionally withdraw from voting and accepting change as impossible. Some weeks ago, it was Pastor Adeboye telling people that the next president has already been chosen by God. Now it is Matthew Ashimolowo saying Peter Obi is the best candidate, but he won’t win. Then another popular Lagos church is running with a program theme talking about “Jesus being the best political cover.” And there are many more subtle messages like that flying around. This is becoming too coordinated to be random. The timing. The location. The pastors involved. The exact emotional direction of the messaging. This is psychological manipulation, and many Nigerians are not catching it. Because APC knows something very important. They know they no longer have anything tangible to sell Nigerians again. Fuel is expensive. Food is expensive. Electricity is expensive. School fees are expensive. Businesses are collapsing. The naira has been battered. People are suffering visibly. So what do you do when performance can no longer convince the people? You start targeting their psychology. You start targeting hope. You start targeting morale. You start making people feel like resistance is pointless. That is the new strategy. And religion is one of the easiest vehicles to use because many Nigerians trust pastors more than they trust facts. Notice the pattern carefully. These pastors will subtly admit that Peter Obi or the Obi/Kwankwaso movement represents competence or better leadership, but immediately after saying that, they will emotionally conclude with: “But he cannot win.” “God has already chosen.” “Jesus is the answer.” “Focus on heaven.” Do you people not see the psychological game being played there? It is not direct support for APC. It is emotional demobilization. It is convincing Nigerians not to bother participating. It is making people subconsciously feel their votes do not matter. Because once people lose hope psychologically, the battle is already halfway won politically. And sadly, many of these pastors know exactly what they are doing because they understand how emotionally dependent many Nigerians are on religious authority. They know many church members will never question anything coming from the altar. That is why you must use your brain this period. God is supreme. Jesus is King. Nobody is arguing that. But God has also given human beings free will. The same Bible is full of people making choices and living with the consequences of those choices. Nigeria today is the result of choices. Bad leadership is the result of choices. Corruption is the result of choices. Silence is the result of choices. And better leadership will also come from choices. God will not come down from heaven to thumbprint ballot papers. Nigerians will. So when someone tells you “the next president has already been chosen,” ask yourself: Why then are politicians campaigning? Why are billions being spent on elections? Why are parties fighting desperately for power? Why are propaganda machines working overtime? Why are pastors suddenly sounding like political analysts? Because they know votes matter. And they know people matter. That is why APC and its supporters are now focusing heavily on psychological warfare. They know they cannot easily defend the suffering Nigerians are facing. So the next best thing is to make Nigerians mentally surrender before 2027 even arrives. That is why you must stay alert. Pray, yes. Trust God, yes. But also think critically. Because faith without wisdom is how manipulators control people.

Teargas in a Hospital, a Thoughtless Act. I have just read the recent troubling reports of how the operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) allegedly stormed the University of Uyo Teaching Hospital in a bid to arrest Professor Eyo Ekpe, a professor of cardiothoracic surgery and deputy chairman of the hospital’s medical advisory committee. While I understand and respect the fact that the EFCC, and indeed, all other government agencies have their constitutional rights to do their jobs without interference, the manner in which some of these jobs are carried out is often deeply troubling. Reportedly, the EFCC operatives who stormed the hospital shot some teargas canisters within the hospital premises which sent medical staff and patients running for safety. This thoughtless act greatly compromised the general safety in the hospital environment and further jeopardised the health of the medical personnel and the sick people in the hospital. I have always said that the most fundamental intangible asset upon which any nation functions effectively is the rule of law and order. The disorderliness allegedly demonstrated by the EFCC operatives at the hospital must not be encouraged. Nothing justifies the use of teargas canisters in a fragile hospital environment. Do we not realise that our hospitals are part of our most critical contributors to development? We must also learn to respect the lives and dignity of our citizens. If a Professor of Cardiothoracic Surgery is arrested in such a demeaning manner in a hospital environment, what signals are we sending to other medical professionals working hard to keep our health sector afloat? It is reported that Nigeria has only 80 cardiothoracic surgeons serving its 230 million people, and the Prof Eyo Ekpe is the only one in Akwa Ibom State. Let us learn to do better. Let us condemn and eschew the rascality and disorderliness that have continued to characterise some of our public offices and bring in civility in the discharge of our duties. A New Nigeria is POssible. -PO

Just in: Governor Otti was walking down the road inspecting ongoing projects when an unexpected moment unfolded. Just as he passed by a church, prayers were being offered for him inside, while some members stood at the entrance shouting powerful ‘Amen!!’ Then, to everyone’s surprise, the Governor walked into the church. The joy on their faces was priceless. The atmosphere instantly became emotional, filled with excitement, smiles, and heartfelt appreciation. It was a moment that felt bigger than coincidence. The Assemblies of God members in Afule, Aba axis won’t forget this moment. When it’s your time, grace will announce you without introduction. Video by : @iam_kelex

It was in May 2025, JAMB had released results and candidates from Lagos and South East states performed poorly. Despite public outcry, a key person in the ministry of education defended the outcome as a reflection of their true capacities under strict examination conditions. It was during this tense period that @winexviv, founder and CEO of Educare, publicly raised concerns about the UTME results, citing data and reports from schools whose students scored far below expectations despite strong past performance. He argued there was a technical glitch in JAMB’s system rather than genuine academic failure. Rather than use kinetic means to resolve perceived injustice, Onyia used subtle diplomacy. He petitioned governors and education officials in the South‑East and Lagos, urging an audit and transparent review before the rescheduled exam concluded. Consequently, JAMB invited him to join a review panel examining the 2025 UTME process, indicating that his involvement was significant in pushing for scrutiny of how the results were generated. JAMB eventually acknowledged technical errors in the examination system that affected scores at many centres in Lagos and the South‑East and ordered a resit for affected candidates (about 379,997 candidates) starting mid-May 2025 for affected candidates. Significant improvements were recorded for many candidates in terms of scores above the 200 benchmark. I was a direct beneficiary of the non kinetic activism of Alex Onyia. My daughter who had previously scored 179, later scored 299 which gave her straight admission for her chosen course of study. Can you imagine the level of education apathy this would have generated if it had gone unchallenged? A 19-year-old candidate, Faith (Timilehin) Opesusi, in Ikorodu, Lagos, reportedly took poison after seeing her 2025 UTME score, which she believed was much lower than expected. She had scored about 190 and was deeply disappointed because she had done better the previous year. Very sadly, reports say that a provisional admission notification arrived about 30 minutes after her death. Alex Onyia went ahead to organize the well publicized and successful South East Maths Olympiad where three students Egejurum Onyedikachi, Onwubiko Chimdiebube and Don-Anele Munachimso emerged as champions. They won cash prizes in millions together with their teachers. Many corporate organizations were partners. The students have been invited to compete on a global stage at the International STEM Olympiad Grand Finale happening in Rome from July 2nd - 8th. He is currently organizing a South-East Educators Conference to happen in May in Enugu. What we need in Nigeria right now are many Alex Onyia who can use non-kinetic means to achieve regional, national and global excellence. A working, prosperous and egalitarian Nigeria is possible, just a step at a time.

Nestlé has recalled these baby products. So before you mix that next bottle for your baby, read this thread carefully as it concerns their well being. If you feed your baby NAN, SMA, or Alfamino, a toxic bacteria has been found in some batches. And you might have it in your house right now. You see, Nestlé has issued a massive global recall for several baby formulas (products in the image above) because they found a toxin called Cereulide (from Bacillus cereus bacteria) in some batches. This toxin causes severe nausea and vomiting in babies. And the scary part is that boiling water does NOT kill it. The toxin is heat-resistant. So even if you prepare the formula correctly, if the powder itself is contaminated, your baby is at risk. Now, NAFDAC has not released a specific alert for Nigeria yet. BUT our markets are porous. And people import ‘UK SMA’ and ‘Imported NAN’ every single day. So if you buy your formula from supermarkets that stock imported goods, or you bought it abroad, you need to check the last stock to see if your tin look like any of those products. If yes, go to Nestle’s UK Website (SMA & Alfamino) and Nestle’s MENA Website (NAN) to verify if your batch does not fall under the recalled ones. If your batch code matches the ones on that list, please DO NOT USE IT. And please, don't keep this information to yourself. If you have a friend, sister, or neighbor who uses SMA, NAN, or Alfamino, retweet this or send this to them NOW. You might be saving a baby from poisoning today.

🇳🇬 Dear Nigerians, We have carefully reviewed the released Certified True Copies of the Tax Reform Acts and the gazettes your government now parades. We have also taken note of the dates boldly printed on them. With that established, let us be clear. Your government is not smart. They simply assume many of you are ignorant. After weeks of sustained public pressure, they issued this clumsy press statement claiming they had “released” the gazetted copies of the Tax Reform Acts, applauding themselves as leaders of a transparent government. That claim is false. It is insulting and honestly misleading. While the world was focused on Venezuela, the House of Representatives, in quiet coordination with the Presidency, released what it now calls Certified True Copies (CTCs) of the four Tax Reform Acts. They even congratulated themselves and praised the Speaker’s so-called “transparency drive.” If you examine the released files, you will find presidential assent pages attached and a Google Drive link to gazettes dated June 26, 2025. This is nowhere near transparency. It is damage control. The timing tells the real story. The four Acts are now being presented as the “AUTHENTIC” versions, conveniently cleansed of the coercive provisions that triggered national outrage. No compulsory 20 percent appeal deposits. No unchecked garnishee powers without court orders. Oversight restored. Due process acknowledged. Fine. At least public fears have been partially allayed. But this question remains unavoidable: if these gazetted copies were genuinely published in June 2025, why were Nigerians previously shown different texts? Why wait until January 2026, after implementation commenced on January 1, before releasing these CTCs? Why only act after public outrage peaked, following Hon. Dasuki’s warning and interventions by other prominent Nigerians? This release is an admission by stealth. They are loudly conceding that rogue versions indeed circulated. They refuse to say who inserted those clauses, who printed them, who distributed them, and under whose authority Nigerians were subjected to texts that were never law. The press statement dismisses the earlier versions as “unauthorised and misleading,” instructs citizens to ignore them, and praises institutional memory while the Betara-led ad hoc committee drags on with no timeline, no findings, and no consequences. Nigerians, re-gazetting does not cure the offence. It sanitises the record and evades responsibility. Post-assent alteration is not an error. It is forgery. It is uttering. It is conspiracy. It is misconduct in public office. It is legislative usurpation under Section 4 of the Constitution. If the CTCs reflect what the National Assembly actually passed, then the earlier circulating texts were criminal fakes and indeed doctored, and someone must answer for publishing fake laws as binding statutes. So far, there are no conclusions. No prosecutions. No apologies. Only PR and forced normalisation as usual. But the deeper danger here is precedent. If laws can be quietly altered and later “corrected” without consequence, then legislation becomes an executive plaything. Nigerians, please do not be distracted by executive conspiracies and shenanigans. We are not fools like the nepotistic zombies who applaud their foolishness. This was a legislative smokescreen. Please let us continue to demand the essentials. A full independent probe must be conducted. Those who altered our laws must be identified. They must be prosecuted once forgery is confirmed. There must be immediate suspension of implementation until this issue is cleared. Anything less normalises CONSTITUTIONAL TREASON. Laws must not become playthings in the hands of executive mischief makers. We are not fools, even though we are led by chronic kakistocrats. #SuspendTaxReformAct #SayNoToForgedLaws

House of Representatives, National Assembly Office of the House Spokesman PRESS STATEMENT For Immediate Release Speaker Abbas Leads Transparency Drive as House Releases Four Tax Acts for Public Records *Abuja, FCT | Saturday, January 3, 2026* — The House of Representatives, under the leadership of the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Abbas Tajudeen, Ph.D., GCON, has released the four tax reform Acts duly signed into law by His Excellency, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Federal Republic of Nigeria, to Nigerians for public record, verification, and reference. Speaker Abbas, in concert with the Senate President, H.E. Senator Godswill Akpabio, GCON, directed the immediate release of the Certified True Copies (CTCs) of the Acts, including the endorsement and assent pages signed by the President, following public concerns and allegations regarding purported alterations and the circulation of unauthorised and misleading versions of the laws. This decisive intervention underscores Speaker Abbas’ long-standing commitment to transparency, legislative integrity, and public confidence in the law-making process. Indeed, the attention of the House was drawn to the existence of inconsistent versions of the tax laws in circulation after a vigilant Honourable Member identified discrepancies, raised the alarm, and formally reported the matter to the House on a point of privilege. Acting promptly, the Speaker ordered an internal verification and the immediate public release of the certified Acts to eliminate doubt, restore clarity, and protect the sanctity of the legislative record. From the initiation of the tax reform process through extensive stakeholder consultations, committee scrutiny, rigorous clause-by-clause consideration, robust plenary debates, and eventual passage, Speaker Abbas has provided firm and steady leadership to ensure that the reforms were evidence-based, inclusive, and aligned with Nigeria’s fiscal realities and development priorities. Throughout the process, Speaker Abbas consistently emphasised that tax reform must be anchored on clarity, fairness, and strict adherence to constitutional and parliamentary procedure. The four Acts released are: • The Nigeria Tax Act, 2025 • The Nigeria Tax Administration Act, 2025 • The National Revenue Service (Establishment) Act, 2025 • The Joint Revenue Board (Establishment) Act, 2025 These landmark legislations constitute the backbone of Nigeria’s contemporary tax reform architecture, designed to modernise revenue administration, improve compliance, reduce inefficiencies, eliminate duplications, and strengthen fiscal coordination across the federation. In directing the release of the certified Acts, Speaker Abbas reassured Nigerians that the National Assembly remains an institution of records, guided by clearly defined rules, precedents, archival systems, and verification processes that safeguard the authenticity of every law enacted. According to him: “The National Assembly is an institution built on records, procedure, and institutional memory. Every Bill, every amendment, and every Act follows a traceable constitutional and parliamentary pathway. Once a law is passed and assented to, its integrity is preserved through certification and custody by the legislature. There is no ambiguity about what constitutes the law.” Speaker Abbas further emphasised that the House would remain vigilant and proactive in defending the integrity of its work, clarifying that the only authentic and authoritative versions of the four tax Acts are those certified and released by the National Assembly. Members of the public, institutions, professionals, and stakeholders are therefore advised to disregard and discountenance any other documents or versions in circulation that are not certified by the National Assembly, as such materials do not form part of the official legislative record. Consequently, the Clerk to the National Assembly has concluded the process of aligning the Acts - duly passed, assented to, and certified - with the Federal Government Printing Press to ensure accuracy, conformity, and uniformity. Hard copies of the certified tax Acts have also been produced and are being circulated to all Honourable Members and Distinguished Senators, and made available to the public, to ensure institutional clarity, uniform reference, and legislative certainty. The House affirms that the work of the Ad-Hoc Committee, chaired by Rt. Hon. Muktar Aliyu Betara, OON, continues, in line with its mandate, to determine the circumstances surrounding the circulation of unauthorised versions of the tax Acts and to recommend measures that will prevent a recurrence and preserve the authenticity and reliability of parliamentary records. The House of Representatives, under the leadership of Rt. Hon. Abbas Tajudeen, Ph.D., GCON, reaffirms its unwavering commitment to constitutionalism, the rule of law, transparency, and accountable governance. The House will continue to strengthen internal controls, uphold institutional discipline, and protect the integrity of Nigeria’s legislative process in the collective interest of the Nigerian people.
