Despite what Sec. Noem said yesterday -- a senior administration official tells me the president did NOT sign off the taxpayer-funded $220 million ad campaign. "Absolutely not." President Trump has called Republicans and top allies asking if he should fire Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem following her testimony in the Senate, several sources confirmed. The sources said the president was upset with that particular moment during the hearing when Sen. John Kennedy questioned Noem about taxpayer-funded $220 million ad campaign. Noem repeatedly suggested the president was aware of the campaign and signed off on it, when he had not according to the admin. confirming others w/ @AllisonMPecorin @wsteaks @LukeLBarr

A very sad update - 4 service members now killed in action

CENTCOM Update TAMPA, Fla. – As of 7:30 am ET, March 2, four U.S. service members have been killed in action. The fourth service member, who was seriously wounded during Iran’s initial attacks, eventually succumbed to their injuries. Major combat operations continue and our response effort is ongoing. The identities of the fallen are being withheld until 24 hours after next of kin notification.

I also asked President Trump if there was an imminent threat to the US. “I think there was a threat. Had we not done Midnight Hammer which was one of the greatest things country has ever done, we would’ve been faced with a nuclear weapon within a month — we would have been faced with a very powerful nuclear weapon within a month.” “And then they were trying to build back —not there because that area was obliterated but they were working on another site despite the negotiations  —  which at some points were going very well. But in the end we didn’t think they were going to get there. And they would’ve had in a fairly short period of time some very fairly big nuclear capacity and we were not going to put up with that.” The president said he didn’t want to explain who takes over. "That I don't want to explain." “We have a very beautiful plan, a beautiful plan.” “You haven’t seen us miss yet, Rachel," he said.

New: President Trump just told me he believes the Supreme Leader is dead. When I asked if the Supreme Leader is dead. The president said, "we believe so." I asked if he knew definitively. "I don't want to say anything definitively until I see things but we believe he is. And much of their leaders are gone. Not only from the one site but two other sites we that we attacked also. We had great intelligence and so we think much of leadership is gone."

More from my interview with President Trump last night: I asked the president about Sens. Tillis and Murkowski calling for Sec. Noem to step down. "Well, they're both losers. You know, what can I tell you? They're terrible senators. One is gone and the other should be gone," he said. "In the meantime, I have a border that's perfect – the strongest, one of the strongest borders anywhere in the world. We went from the weakest border in the world to one of the strongest borders in the world." "So what Murkowski says –  she's always against the Republicans anyway. And Tillis decided to drop out. So you know, he lost his voice once he did that."

Just spoke to Pres. Trump. I asked him if he had seen the video of Rep. Omar being attacked and sprayed by a substance. “No. I don't think about her. I think she's a fraud. I really don't think about that. She probably had herself sprayed, knowing her,” the president said. I asked again if he had seen the video. “I haven't seen it. No, no. I hope I don't have to bother.”
