Frank Lockhart managed to complete one lap with an average speed of 111 mph, however he had to pull his car into the garage after the first lap, probable engine trouble. He has one more qualifying attempt left. Tough lesson for the rookie.

Frank Lockhart is back on track and it seems likely that he will try to qualify his car again after his failed attempt an hour ago.

‼️‼️NEW SINGLE LAP TRACK RECORD‼️‼️ Lockhart ran his first lap in 1:17.93, with an average speed of 115.488 miles an hour. This beats the single lap speed record that Pete DePaolo set last year. WOW

Frank Elliott in his Miller Special is the first to attempt to qualify. He has completed his first lap in 1:25.21 which is equivalent to just about 105 miles an hour. Will report when his run is done!

Timing trials for the 1926 #Indy500 will begin shortly! What you need to know: Cars need to maintain an 85 mph average over 10 miles (4 laps). Fastest car today will have the pole, even if somebody qualifies with a faster time after today.

I have a lot of problems with this post: 1. You may be frustrated, but why target the longest-tenured player in the Tigers' organization, who has always played hard and with a positive attitude, who made meaningful contributions to 2 playoff seasons, and has already overachieved and exceeded expectations for his MLB career? 2. Demanding that players be performatively sad 24-7 after a loss, when they are humans with wives, young kids, normal lives who have played hundreds or thousands of games in their careers and thus have dealt with failure many times before and will do so many times again, is absurd. 3. MLB player Instagram is relatively unpolluted by the nonsense of social media -- particularly for regular, non-star players. Sharing positive photos and videos with friends and family back home and current and former teammates around the game is totally normal. That's why a ton of players are on Instagram and virtually zero are on X/Twitter.

i know it's easy to be like "oh it's just a twt account" but there is a lot of research and thought that goes into everything I post plus I write/curate the companion newsletter. this is a fun project but it's also a really intense project so yeah idk

anyway 100Years has gained like 350 followers since mid-April which is wild, and I'm feeling really perceived plus i did have a couple people accuse me of making the plane crash up so like, I want to be transparent and whatnot

i need to say this but do want to break the fourth wall on 100years but i 100% made up the order the cars are qualifying in today. well not 100%, more like 90% because i used what the newspapers told me re: order but it was Not Much
