Strong markets depend on strong infrastructure. That’s why I was proud to lead the FRIDGE Act and secure its inclusion in the Farm Bill—boosting refrigeration and cold storage at our ports so Iowa-raised beef, pork, turkey, and chicken can reach global markets without spoilage.

Our local convenience stores fuel Main Street, and I’m committed to ensuring Iowans have access to safe, affordable options that support local business owners.

Thanks to the Working Families Tax Cuts, family farms can deduct up to 20% of their qualified business income. This is a lifeline for farmers and manufacturers—helping them reinvest in equipment, hire workers, and stay competitive. The facts are clear: under President Trump’s leadership, pro-growth policies are helping the next generation sustain family-run businesses.

Tonight, I voted to pass @RepDaveTaylor’s Deporting Fraudsters Act. I’m proud to cosponsor this important legislation to safeguard taxpayer dollars and hold criminal aliens who knowingly defraud those dollars accountable. This bill would ensure fraudsters caught stealing from Americans are deported and barred from returning.

Today, I met with Matt Washburn of the Northwest Iowa Power Cooperative and the Mid-West Electric Consumers Association. We had a productive discussion on the importance of hydropower and the federal power program—and how to best leverage these resources to deliver reliable, affordable energy for Iowans.

Tractor overturns are the leading cause of death on farms—and fatal rollovers cause 70% of farms to close within five years. That’s why I introduced the Roll-Over Protection and Safety (ROPS) Act, which passed unanimously as an amendment in the Farm Bill. Fraud scandals across the country are a stark reminder that waste, fraud, and abuse are still rampant. That’s why I introduced the No American Benefits Abroad Act—to stop welfare recipients from wiring taxpayer-funded benefits overseas. Simply put: if someone can afford to send money abroad, they shouldn’t be receiving welfare in the first place.

Thanks to the Working Families Tax Cuts, which included my ACRE Act, we lowered taxes by 25% on interest from rural property loans. This will help ensure Iowa farmers, ranchers, landowners, and bankers can access and offer more accessible and affordable loans.

For too long, Iowa hog farmers have faced uncertainty because of California’s Prop 12. This unfair mandate lets one state dictate how farmers across the country raise livestock. A single disease outbreak can devastate our flocks and herds—and threaten our ability to sell high-quality American products around the world. That’s why the Farm Bill includes my SAFE Act to secure regionalization agreements so an outbreak in one part of the country doesn’t halt exports from places like Iowa.

Thanks to the Working Families Tax Cuts, the Death Tax exemption has been permanently increased to $15 million per individual. This will protect an estimated 50,000 Iowa family farms from the Death Tax and prevent families from having to sell land just to pay federal taxes.
