It was great to join the Appalachian Mountain Club, Open Space Institute, Hudson Highlands Land Trust, Scenic Hudson, and the many organizations at Little Stony Point in the Hudson Highlands—one of the crown jewels of NY-17. I’m committed to strengthening the Land and Water Conservation Fund, ensuring full funding, accountability, and access for our communities.

You’re a dope. The bill was introduced last Congress and again last year. There was no plan to vote on it right now — it hasn’t even been marked up by committee. Stop lying just to get clicks. The bill is not amnesty — no one who came under Joe Biden would qualify and no one who has committed a crime would qualify. You must pay a fine, pay back taxes, have a job, cannot commit a crime, cannot collect government benefits, and cannot become a citizen, which means you won’t be able to vote. It would codify the President’s border policies into law and would implement e-verify nationwide for all businesses, preventing illegals from working in the country. Instead of using words for rage bait, actually have a rational discussion. And if you have a better plan, by all means.

As sick as it was, the amnesty bill by Mike Lawler, Salazar, and other neocons was timed with Trump’s planned strike on Iran. Their plan was to vote on it while the country was distracted with a massive and escalating war. This is treachery beyond comprehension.

Great spending time with the team at BRIDGES today and joining their Veterans Walking Club at the Palisades Center. Every Wednesday, veterans and community members come together to walk, connect, and stay active. I was glad to walk alongside members of their Veterans group, hear their stories, and talk with the incredible BRIDGES team about the important work they’re doing to support our community. New Yorkers are paying the price for Governor Hochul’s failed energy agenda. The basic fact is this: the 2019 climate law was based on faulty assumptions and enacted using wishful thinking instead of hard facts. It is time for Governor Hochul to provide immediate relief to New Yorkers by redirecting several billion dollars in unspent, ratepayer-collected funds back to residents facing high electric bills in the form of utility bill credits.

How does the Working Families Tax Cuts Act help working families raising kids? First, it increases the Child Tax Credit, which directly reduces how much families owe in taxes and helps offset the cost of raising children. Second, it increases the standard deduction, which means most families will pay taxes on less of their income. In simple terms, that means lower tax bills and bigger take-home pay. Families across Rockland, Westchester, Putnam, and Dutchess counties are facing rising costs for housing, childcare, groceries, and transportation. So giving families more tax relief helps them keep more of the paycheck they already earned. And with Tax Day coming up , that means real relief for working parents across NY-17. Clarkstown came together for a powerful moment at this year’s Superintendent’s Cup. Prior to the Clarkstown North vs. South game, 2025 North graduate Giacomo “Gio” Leone took the mound for the ceremonial first pitch, and I had the privilege of presenting him with a proclamation and challenge coin. Since his traumatic brain injury in August of 2024, Gio’s strength has inspired the entire community. In a show of unity, both teams wore orange armbands in support.

I spent an afternoon out at Hudson Highlands State Park highlighting the impact of the Land and Water Conservation Fund. From protecting open space to expanding access to the outdoors, LWCF investments are helping preserve the natural beauty that defines our community and supports local recreation. Proud to join partners like the Appalachian Mountain Club to ensure these spaces are protected for generations to come.

A great job by the Construction Industry Council of Westchester & Hudson Valley (CIC) and the Building Contractors Association of Westchester & Mid-Hudson (BCA) for hosting the 25th Annual Hudson Valley Construction Career Day at Rockland Community College last week. More than 700 students from across the Hudson Valley came together to gain firsthand exposure to the construction industry and explore the many opportunities in the skilled trades.

Congratulations to NY-17’s Aerin Frankel, Team USA Women’s Hockey goalie and Olympic gold medalist, who threw out the first pitch alongside Jack Hughes, who scored the game-winning goal to give Team USA Men’s Hockey the gold medal at the New York Yankees Home Opener. We are all so proud of Aerin here in the Hudson Valley!

Relieved to hear that one of the fighter jet pilots has been safely rescued—an incredible testament to the bravery and speed of our rescue teams. Praying that the second pilot is found quickly and brought home safe. Thinking of both of them and everyone working around the clock to make that happen.
